@p3 the government has basically black listed Anthropic for not allowing them to use their AI for whatever they want. OpenAI filled that gap without even thinking about it. This will have a huge long term financial payoff but the ethical payoff not so much. It won't matter though since ethical behavior among the super rich is an oxymoron. Making money is the number one priority, can't have enough...

@fs can you provide some verifiable source other than the large number video that have popped up everywhere making claims that all tokens are subsidized and there is no ROI?
The videos are quite often professionally developed which equates to expensive, they have the same story line... all AI companies are losing billions and there is not ROI,,, and none of them provide verifiable sources to backup their claims.
The question that come to mind for me are - who is funding the videos and - what is their motive?
@ej You are missing that the tokens have to be so expensive to cover the compute that nobody could afford to use the tokens if they were charged at actual price. Furthermore businesses are finding that even the heavily subsidized tokens have little to no ROI, CFO's dont like that.
