We can assume some of the layoff rumors are true. But it would be a huge relief just to know the timeline. Stressing constantly, expecting every week to be the week, is too much. If the job market were better right now, fewer of us would be worried out of our minds. But as things stand, losing this job could quickly become a personal catastrophe.

@1dr the process in Spain has been ongoing since the RIF was communicated by the company in November , this is how it works in Spain according to the law.- communication- consultation period- negotiation- voluntaries- exchageability- communication- exit. This will last 2-3 months every time they do a massive layoff ( more than 40 people)
Spain is closing now last year layoffs in EU , if there is another round this year in EU , every country has their own labor law / WoC etc .
I got KIA/RIF years ago so the whole "personal catastrophe" already happened to many of us. All I can say is plan ahead and get your resume and financial house in order. Everyone who has been getting RIF from Oracle the past 10-20 years has gone through the same thing.
I'm pretty sure that I heard @op is on the list.
Work Council in Spain told their staff they'd hear in 2 weeks, about 2 weeks ago. Would assume timeline is similar across EU.
All I know is that when I got up, it was very dark ... talk go 30,000 being laid off.
It is much brighter now!
At least until the sun goes down, and the whole cycle starts all over again.
@b7 same experience
My manager was rif’d and told me Hyderabad is going to get hit hard if only meets expectations. Layoffs incoming.
due to reorg my manager is no longer my manager, so he told me as a parting farewell that yes, 30k layoff incoming and the only thing he heard is that OCI will be on the chopping block

To answer your question, the timeline is the RIF is starting right now.
"The relationship no longer exists between the Client and anyone they can identify as being 'on their side'."
Kinda reminds me of the death of relationship between the USA and it's former allies. The relationship is broken!
Oracle clients are tired of being milked liked cows! They are tired of reps who are only interested in pumping sales, not actually helping the client! The relationship no longer exists between the Client and anyone they can identify as being 'on their side'.
"Valentine's day is coming. The AN-L kiss of death is not far behind. Bend over and take it..."
INCOMING!
@f0 has anyone heard of specific roles or departments that will either be spared or hit hard?

Sep 2022 there was a similar article related to CX which was denied internally by mgmt. Later the EVP was let go along with the 2500 ICs in the org.
Now we have another article forecasting 30% layoffs and cerner getting flushed.
Ignore at your own risk.
@f0 which orgs?
Heard next Tuesday is the drop. going to be big. start applying
None of the job postings I've looked at were looking for anything Oracle related
I'll second that. I've looked at hundreds, if not thousands of job listings that reference cloud computing. Most mention AWS, with the rest Google and Azure. Of all those jobs, a grand total of one mentioned OCI.
@a8 SEC needs to investigate,Oracle Accounting and Stock price fluctuation. I am 100% pretty sure there was foul play.
They inflateted stock value from $170 to $326 within 24hrs after quarterly result in September , 2025. Same time that time CEO sold billions of dollars Oracle stock and stepped down from her position.
They vested RSUs into Stocks at price ranges from $308 to $318 in september, 2025 which l think will not touch again within next 5 yrs...
Their must be Class lawsuote against fraud compnay and their management.
Were you EVP of CX ? Did CX multiple layoffs more than 3000 ICs since Aug 2022 mostly in US ? Were those ICs given a chance to transition?
@b4 "Now is a good time to pack in as many certifications as possible. Don't focus on Oracle branded certs - think CompTIA, Cisco Networking, Scrum, Agile, Python, etc. Get familiar with AI prompts: that's going to be your new KPI on the outside. Think vendor-neutral for skills that will work across different silos."
That's very good advice. None of the job postings I've looked at were looking for anything Oracle related, and Oracle used their own home-grown tools for almost everything so unless you can find a class, you won't be familiar with any of the other tools everyone else is using.
One thing for sure: an engineer in North America costs 3 or 4 times (calculating all benefits) or more than one from a low cost area such as India, Mexico, eastern Europe, Thailand etc…) so for LE the maths is simple.
It’s all about money
At Oracle, you are just a number
@ah
“I was let go by EVP in a 1:1 call on September 2. While financially secure, it was a significant personal change.
The process was as inhuman as possible as it assumed nothing that you were working on needed to be transitioned.”
LE said to laidoff Oracle peons: “ This is the Oracle way; get over it!”

Think vendor-neutral for skills that will work across different silos. I was laid off last September. It was early retirement for me and thank goodness I had been preparing myself financially for over a year prior. It came to no surprise. But even if you don't get cut loose this week, look to build a wider footprint than just Oracle. Good luck out there.
@af you mean to say store a fat stack of cash in case you lose your job. That’s just common sense

I empathize for the former colleagues worried about future layoffs.
When I heard rumors before the layoffs last Aug/Sept, I made moves financially and in regards to setting up "plan B"s, to be ready in case the worst happened. TBH, I think it's a good exercise to do even if there aren't rumors of lay-offs. At the very least, you have some peace of mind you have a plan in place for worst case scenarios, and who knows, maybe you discover something better than what you got going now and move on.
What I wouldn't do is stress and panic yourself.
Definitive as in a date? No. But the stock is definitely way down and there is still that sinister "Fiscal 2026 Oracle Restructuring Plan" filing the the SEC from Q1 FY2026 (8/31/2025).
You can either waste time and stress out, or you can take action and start working on your next job and/or career. In fact, you ought to be focusing on the latter anyway, regardless of whether you get caught in the coming RIF or not.
You would hope that there was just someone in senior management that would be willing to give an anonymous message to us with some idea of what and when. It’s just human decency.
Only thing certain is stock is down the last few weeks.
Sorry, but you are never getting a timeline. They do everything they can to avoid giving any advance notice for something like this.
Better start applying outside asap than getting the head chopped off with 3 months pay.
Agree. It's a very tough and competitive job market. AWS had a huge layoff recently. Microsoft had a big layoff late last year. Many of these folks are very capable and talented. Honestly, I would start looking for a role now. It might take 26 weeks or more to find a new role. Hiring companies are choosing to be very selective now. Lesson learned. Just my 2 cents.
