If you thought the cuts were done, or mostly done, wrong. The Org cuts will occur Dec. Most will be told early to mid Nov. CN wants everyone off the books by Jan. Welcome to the magical 3% plus margin goal. Stock should do well though..

@tb 100% agreed. I’ve been sensing buyout for awhile now, eveything lines up to this.
I worked at Centene for 10+ years and was laid off along with 3000 other people during the pandemic in early 2021. This situation with the VSP payouts and other layoffs appears to be not just a re-org, but them positioning Centene for a buyout. I'd get prepared for that if I was still working for them. Good luck. With thousands of newly unemployed health insurance folks fighting for the same type of jobs right now, it is going to be the insurance version of Thunderdome.

@dg and you really believe the lies ? I was told directly no reduction in my dept bg my direct manager and I was laid off and she was not there.
@gs Agree with your analysis and thought process! I’ve been sayinh that before the sh-t show started. Why stagger only VSP dates and not add more. They have not even begun to reduce. Let the party commence

Fact: Centene has been doing layoffs 2-3 times a year FOR YEARS. This will continue.
Plausible/Likely: Future rounds of layoffs will coincide with staggered VSP dates, just like this round.
We are not in an economic climate where you can afford to have the mindset of being safe. It doesn't exist.
@dh you know it makes sense to stagger the more lay offs with the. Change in dates for vsp. Have to be some reason for that. Sit back and watch them drop. I’m gone so who cares anymore.
Whoever posted this really doesn’t know, trying to scare all of us. Only cuts happening come December is those who took the VSP. I am not sure why you post something without a source. Stop being like Fox News and CNN and make people more worried. Again provide your source
How do you know this is true? I heard Centene, or at least my department, was finished laying off people a couple of weeks ago.
@OP that’s what I am expecting but I was laid off now so how do you know this to be true ? I figured there would be another one after the fiscal year ended but ?
@ae and I still owe for loans that will never go away in my lifetime under the new regime. Along with my job to pay them.
The power is slipping away. AI hasn’t proved it can take over yet and AI+offshore is even worse than AI by itself. The new play is to have AI gathering all the institutional knowledge to make you obsolete. Don’t give it to them, communicate outside of the tools the company gives you and sure “you” can’t be duplicated.

Hope someday our federal government sees the growing disdain by the American workforce and Americans in general for these corporations unpatriotic strategies against their own countryman and will take some sort of action, via congressional bills or reduce their CMS payments to combat this behavior. If they don’t do anything, I wonder just how bad things could get in our country as people begin to lose patience, as the true unemployment rate of actual American citizens continues to rise.
American professionals that went to universities for four or more years and racked up a lot of student loan debt expect some sort of return on their investment into themselves other than to be shoved out and replaced by non-American citizens and then hear that it is because there are not enough American citizen professionals to fill the positions. Which of course is an outright lie!
Most likely for all health insurance corporations for Medicare will be doing quarterly layoffs for the next couple of years or really however long (or fast) it takes to either ship the company’s business activities overseas or else have AI take over all operations. It is the new world and way business executives are choosing to do things now.
You don’t know that you’re just speculating. Nobody knows when the next cuts will be.
Taking VSP was really the right move ,unfortunately I didn’t take it as no one expected the next layoffs to be as fast at he end of this year
The ones that are still here know its coming. Just a matter of time.
