Surprised to see Gina’s internal email in the press already! 😀.

Will be interesting to see how the board addresses this in the all hands next week and their comments on share price + continued transformation.

While I share a lot, or rather, most of the criticism of the board, I disagree with pushing internal mails to the press.

We should be more honorable than that.

@a5 One of the benefits to a high turnover rate is that newer employees generally feel optimistic. So they make up the bulk of the good scores. They are showered with gifts and feelings of "belonging." The first few bad signs are written off as "nowhere is perfect."

I feel the bulk of them either end up quitting, miserable like us, or turn up the a-s-kissing volume to 100 as they see this as a sustainable career path.

Interesting that it’s 59% when everyone knows the employees in India and China automatically give the highest rating in every category. Some are forced by management and others do not believe the survey is anonymous.

The executive board of SAP SE, Europe’s most valuable software company, is facing declining employee trust following recent job cuts and organizational restructuring, underscoring growing concerns about its senior leadership.

Trust in SAP’s executive board fell to 59%, down 6 percentage points from April, according to an internal email sent by SAP’s Chief Human Resources Officer Gina Vargiu-Breuer on Monday and seen by Bloomberg News. For comparison, more than 80% of employees said they trusted Chief Executive Officer Christian Klein’s management team in April 2021, according to a local media report.

The path SAP is taking involves “substantial transformation, which we know can create pressure and frustration,” Vargiu-Breuer wrote in the email. “The feedback shows that not every step has landed how it should,” she said, adding that management is confident in the strategy.

SAP shares have fallen 12% this year as the Walldorf, Germany-based company struggles to explain to clients and employees how artificial intelligence will transform its business. Trust in the executive board has meanwhile declined for years, based on internal surveys seen by Bloomberg, as the company cuts jobs and works to restructure the business to focus more on cloud software sales and AI developments. Earlier in CEO Christian Klein’s tenure, 80% of survey participants still said they trusted the board, according to a local media report.

SAP said in a statement that the findings “clearly indicate that employee engagement and trust in the board require attention,” and the company said it’s taking “targeted action in response.”

Confidence in the company’s strategy execution also came in lower than in April, at 70% compared to 77%.

Vargiu-Breuer said the results show management “exactly where we need to focus.” She added that more than 38,000 employee comments raised concerns about unclear guidance on new performance metrics, organizational stability, limited learning time and lack of technical resources for integrating AI into daily workflows and products.

SAP conducts the so-called Unfiltered Pulse every half year. In the current survey, 84% of SAP’s more than 100,000 employees took part, according to the email. SAP did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

this is the only way to fight back. we all know that saps response to any survey will be spun in a positive light to make worthless managers feel like they are doing a good job. if you see something inappropriate then make sure you save it. even if you just take a picture of your screen with your phone. if they fire you then wipe the meta data and send it to the media through a vpn and anonymous email. i recommend leaking things slowly. if you dump everything at once then people will just forget. if you dump something every week it keeps sap in the headlines. some of us already started saving things. the more the merrier.

The trust in the executive board is still too high. They’ll blame this on investors and employees. And continue with layoffs. Nothing to see here.
