Your union “leadership” are not helping your cause. But they will be quick to want your support when contract time comes.
Get involved at your locals and change your outcomes. Prems/wire techs outnumber the other technician groups.

“The Wire techs are really good at what they do. Their contract stinks from what I understand. Wire techs should try and get together and force the company to get them some better wages.”
You’d think the U management team would be all about equal wages & seeing to it that the Wire Techs get paid the same as the Digital Techs since they’re doing the exact same work most all of the time.

At least my hard earned union fees went to No kings protests. I mean. There is no king, so it must be working.
Wire twisters 101.
@bn:
“Someone doesn't know how unions work. Newsflash: Higher wage scale techs can be forced to do lower scale work.”
That’s just a fancy way of saying that the U is perfectly content with some of its members making more $ & having better benefits than other members for doing the same job. Not anything at all to brag about.
In D3, BFS Digital Techs have been doing your job for 8 or 9 years now for much better Wage Scale 32 pay, better savings & healthcare benefits, better schedules, more time off, etc.

News flash for Wire Techs: In D3, BFS Digital Techs have been doing your job for 8 or 9 years now for much better Wage Scale 32 pay, better savings & healthcare benefits, better schedules, more time off, etc. The T management team & the U management both seem to agree that this is the proper way to operate the business. Perhaps Wire Techs should get the same pay as the Digital Techs who are doing the exact same work 75-90% of the time.
I remember when PT/WT started at $7 to 8 dollars an hour, unlimited forced OT, 1 day off a month if lucky, much worse benefits and work rules. Voting in the union changed our work life balance, benefits and work rules drastically. The union is as strong as it’s membership’s participation so, get active for a fair contract.
It’s the money.
The Union wants your money.
Wireline is dying.
Repeat after me, “Union Strong”.
The union only care about the retirees and don’t give a damn of the current workers
