Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Regular layoffs

Does a regular severance package come with any healthcare coverage for an extended period or not?

@bf Yep! Similar to if you quit a job. Your health insurance with the company ends at the end of the month.

I think the question was if you get let go via layoff, when does your coverage end and does the company contribute anything toward COBRA similar to the offer they made for the VSP to cover xx months of COBRa costs.

I think your coverage ends the last day of the month (I think they process enrollment files monthly). However, will the company pay any of your cobra costs, that is a really good question because that is crazy expensive if you are covering a family .

COBRA insurance, but honestly, if you have a working spouse, it may be better to get added to their health insurance.

Sometimes with COBRA. However, COBRA is often expensive. Every situation might not be the same. I recommend doing some research via google and you will have a little more information
