Seeing a shiiiitload of LinkedIn retirements/ Surpluses

Quickly losing track of how many LinkedIn posts from now ex-AT&T employees across the board, Retirement or Surplus layoffs. One thing the company will find out soon is how Morale will plummet even Further once the remaining survivors are in a constant state of uncertainty, apathy, disengagement, quiet quitting and throwing each other under the bus to stay on payroll. Just look at other companies that have already done massive cuts and are at historically low morale among employees. Newer employees that can leave will already be eyeing the Exit to get out on their own terms and the older employees will be stuck praying for a buyout— but all will feel like they are next on the chopping block. Good luck getting employees to give a F#CK about the company when they already feel that they are inevitably up next. As more employees lose faith in the future of the company you will also see a wave of Executives sprinting towards the exits cashing out their Stocks, not IF but when…. AT&T is circling down the toilet bowl 💩 🚽

You cry and moan every day

If the majority of your team is gone, chances are your work is about to be shipped overseas. Just watch. They have likely already started another team elsewhere. You’ll be slammed initially, then the work will slowly change to where you only get things that are “one-offs.” Then, you discover that another team has talent your work and you’re being cut.

They do not care about morale. We just had a 47% cut in our organization. In one roll alone, 17 were age 50 or over, and six were under 50..

Leadership in one organization did not even know what people were talking about when they asked about people stepping up to retire before the layoff. She said that would not be taken into consideration.

“Nothing has changed, and the total number of employees continues to decrease drastically year over year.”
A fact at all major tech corporations.

@a9 "look at all the “8 and Skate”

Yeah, interestingly enough that attitude did not exist until Stank drove the culture into the curb. The "8 & Skate" culture is a direct result of employees realizing that their time outside 8 hours was worth more than T was willing to pay for the extra hours. Stank told us numerous times how unimportant we really are to his company. That we are too old even though he is older than most of his "target" audience. I am one who quit in place because Stank said that I am not that valuable to the company. Well, those hours after 8 are a lot more valuable to me doing other things then working for AT&T.

A guy asked C. Anthony about morale during the town hall last week. He responded in so many words, all companies stink right now - pick your poison.
It’s all part of the plan.

T has been bloated forever. Rightsizing has been needed for decades. Just look at all the “8 and Skate” posts made on here nonstop.

OP-

100% correct, but T has been a circus for YEARS now.
Nothing has changed, and the total number of employees continues to decrease drastically year over year.

Morale??

You’re funny.

Like that’s been a “thing” for more than a decade now.

I was also told that the estimate was about a 10% RIF across all of T, my partner said that the number of managers on the Monday pre announcement notification call was staggering, and that we should expect continued smaller targeted layoffs ongoing and then another larger 10%++ layoff around Sept-Oct of this year, then a reset and some right-sizing going into Q1/27 with the overall vision to drop the current workforce as of Monday's headcount by 30%. Good Luck Everyone

Stank is most hated of all time, any company. Never met anyone who agrees with a single thing he attempts. Sad!

Big stink and “RTO” ruined the company. That’s his legacy now.

I'm hearing estimates of around 10% which if true means 10k+ were impacted.
