Has anyon else who retired from Mobility Management get a letter sating that Life Insurance was canceled and not eliegible for even the $15K of insurance? Just more of AT&T cutting promised benefits then daring you to challenge them when they/Fidelity Benefits center have all documents which they never share

I got a letter stating I'm getting free 6x life insurance because they canceled 6 basic policies.
Woohoo!
Don't die. That'll show 'em!!
Check one of the FB retiree groups for better info on this. "AT&T Retirees" or better "ATT Retirement Planning Club".
I retired around 9 months ago from a network org, not strictly Mobility. I have not yet received a letter,
When I retired, I cancelled all of my life insurance because I no longer need it for income protection, but the “free” $15k is better than a poke in the eye for final expenses.
lawyer up-usualy the lead plantiff in a class action lawsuit receives the highest payout
I got it too. I’m going to call the HR # provided.
Serious response, I have NOT received a noticed yet, but will keep an eye out.
Retired back in 2018.
Not surprised, since employees never had to contribute (No monthly premium, etc.)
Just one last thing the company has to keep track of in the future.
Grab your ankles boys. Thank you John. Sir may I have another sir!
Oh man that su-ks. I'm glad I'm union.
When you retire, your best benefit is no longer having to work for this sh@th@le of a company.
Who is really surprised by this? Not me, I'm surprised it took this long to cancel. I HATE STANKEY!
What a low life organization
Exactly, not when they can “change” the writing at anytime.
@a7 - sort of.
They always refer back to the applicable policy so if they did really make a mistake, they can fix that by canceling. They can also very easily just change the policy.
Net net is that having it “in writing” doesn’t really help much.
Was this a benefit you had in writing?
Yup, I just got mine yesterday. It was the only real retirement benefit I had. Their explanation vaguely stated it was given to me “by mistake”.
