During Dan’s speech he told us that it was his 22nd day as CEO. He then stated that by his 44th day as CEO most of his transformative plan would be revealed and much of it would already be set in motion. This is the start of the 1st week of Dan’s 3 week transformation kickoff. Hang on for one heck of a ride! Hope I see you on the other side!

@ac a really reductive post. I expect what he's going to do is clean house with leaders, eliminate poor performing products and partnerships, and streamline a business made overly complex by taking advantage of customers. A lot of leaders with bad pet projects that don't actually evaluate metrics NEED TO GO.

It. seems counterintuitive to decrease the amount of employees working on tasks when one's failing to keep up with tasks that customers rely on. A recipe for disaster.
Dan has no ideas - he just trying to bypass time using layoffs.
You can’t appease shareholders by reducing plans and laying off workers is only temporary.

Who cares
Yea i heard the same thing and thought maybe there will be layoffs each week for 3 weeks. Then the new structure is revealed after all the layoffs by 11/20, who really knows though.
Fact of the matter is Dan and Team have no strategy to grow the business only to cut costs. VZ has cut approximately 45K jobs in the last five years and the stock keeps trending lower. Dan will follow Han's strategy of being a corporate serial ki-ler and the stock will not reverse its trend lower. The coming layoffs are this century's version of bloodletting by leeches. The patient is dying and Dan is draining the body of needed blood. Don't despair though, I am sure Dan will parachute out of this flaming wreck Lowell and Hans piloted safe and sound.
