Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo learn from Uber and cut management roles

Too much bureaucracy and inefficiency. Management to employees ratios are off the charts for support roles.

This may depend on the LOB and group, but in mine the individual contributor roles are by far the easiest. Started there. Moved up a few levels of management and it's much more difficult work. Not even comparable really. Anyway, if it makes you feel better about life, literally thousands of managers have been downsized as the company has hacked away at the domestic workforce. The only group that doesn't get fte reductions are the executives.

Management roles seem to be the safest, best, easiest jobs in this company. There is literally ZERO accountability when they do nothing other than provide status reports. There are no goals, no development, no care for morale. It baffles me that our work is scrutinized if it's not perfect, yet they do literally nothing at all.

The crazy thing is, they’ve already cut so many. You should’ve seen what it was like a decade ago.

I bet you are a joy at parties, and to manage.

Cut management roles ? ? ? How dare you suggest. They are the bread and butter in an ultra-stale, moldy, burnt grilled cheese sandwich that has been left on the counter for 7 years (which is the length of tenure for you know who). They need MORE management roles so they can expand the meeting process and feel justification in their existence. Then, they can leave those meetings to utilize gaslighting techniques they learned to demoralize the peons even further. Yeah, I have encountered many "managers" at WF and not one has enlightened me or shown any worth of their position. I would not explore any type of friend or counterpart relationship with any manager I have met at WF. In fact, my day always got better when personal interaction ended with anyone in followership.
