Already losing faith in the H1B Visa Plan

They told us on video this was 100k per year for all the H1B Visa holders, or all 600K. Now its a 1 time fee of 100K for 3 years, its only for non us grads so like only 60K out of the 80K new H1B Visa's. Talk about a walk back, that's like only 1/10th of the original stated headcount. What a let down.

60/80 is 1/10th? Is that new math?

Might want to check iaproject.org. The visa system is a "scam" -- both in the US and in India. Glad something is being done.

What did you expect with this bunch? There's always a grift. Nothing is done on face value of being good for the American worker.

@a5+1k5n38h8f is correct. I am flying back from India now -- had to prematurely end my visit. Don't want any fee on my head. I hope Elon, Zuckerberg, and all can fix this. Most of this will clear up -- especially if job reports get better, which they will once he has his people in place.

@a6 TACO needs his poll numbers up. They will say anything on TV to get them up. It's all an entertainment show with this administration. And people actually believe it cause they only read the headlines and not the actual "factual" story.

bummer! Yesterday’s promise, today’s reality: nothing change. We hear tough talk about “protecting American jobs” and “cracking down on H-1B abuse.” But when the dust settles, there’s no real policy shift, no meaningful reform . Just the status quo, preserved as always, to favor corporations, not the people.

@OP The H1B scam will continue until Congress changes the rules. TACO doesn't have the authority to do much. He can only do things relating to the security of the country, hence fining 100k for those coming into the country and applying for H1B job.

@a3 correction "it's only" not "it's on"

Also, you forgot to mention it's on for H1B applications filed from outside of USA. Those already in USA (like F1 students who are going to graduate from US colleges) can get H1B jobs and not have to pay 100K. This executive order only applies for anyone outside of USA. Not for anyone already in USA and Not for anyone who already has an H1B. No charge for renewing an existing H1B after 3 years or after 1 year if they have applied for greencard.
