Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

We should be seeing more cuts soonish

I've been here long enough to have noticed a pattern. Each year, around this time, there are cuts. It's not a massive round, but it's always something. A few people here, a few there, but it always happens like clockwork. If you've been here a while, you know what I'm talking about.

@a5 Dell has absolutely ZERO ability to follow any process. Look at how many times we said we were going to follow Agile, or Scrum, or Lean, or Object Oriented. We failed EVERY SINGLE TIME! Why? Because we have ZERO leadership who even understands modern best practice processes, let alone knows how to implement them. Dell Engineering leadership can't follow Pop-Tart instructions.

August and Nov. Nov will be a big one. These id--ts think spec driven development with AI will be the direction and actually believe that developers will no longer right code they’ll just update specs. The ignorance and stupidity is absolutely maddening.
