Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Timing of Layoffs - What to Expect?

It looks like the program I've been assigned to for the past 6 years is slowly being dismantled - there is no appetite to spend time & resources on risk reduction/mitigation strategies any more.

We're expecting to hear next week if the company is truly stepping away from our effort's goals. If that ends up being the decision, how long does our team have before we:

  1. End up on the layoff list with HR
  2. Actually get notified our positions have been eliminated?

@b4 Why do you keep getting so defensive about AI? The OP definitely does have some unusual formatting going on. It wouldn’t be the first time someone used an LLM to get attention and then lied about it on here.

Chill out and use your noodle for once.

@bk Fool, you've been arguing with AI this entire time.

@b6 OP already explained it was just their professional writing style. 7 people agreed. You showed up late to be wrong loudly. Sweetie.

I’m in the same situation. Was previously included in future state discussions, now I’m not. Work load is dwindling. Just following rules and fulfilling time taking trainings so they don’t have a reason to term for cause. It’s a wait and see game. Focusing on side hustles and skilling up helps with the anxiety of living in limbo.

@b7 Just because he uses AI doesn't mean he was always a victim. Especially if he's in a call center. AI was actually made for the kind of folks who intellectually can't do a lot of "heavy lifting" and find themselves working in places like that.

No, I'm not an Iowan? I'm a human.

@b6 This kid clearly got their lunch money stolen on a regular basis. Probably in their 40's or 50's still working in a call center.

@b4 lmao calm down sweetie. Sorry you took offense to your AI boyfriend being slandered, but AI formatting is absolutely unnatural and OP is using it. If you can't see that, you're one of the mo--ns internalizing it.

@a5 What is this hubris? You just assume everything is written by AI now? There is nothing wrong with how OP wrote their message. I will say it's probably not something anyone can really answer with any certainty.

Ironically, your (incorrect) assumption is a signal that AI is so good you can no longer discern the difference.

Impossible to say, some LOBs keep people around for years in such a scenario, others dump them in a few months. All I know for sure is that they'll get to it eventually, same as the rest of us.

@a5 sadly, I didn't use AI at all. This is just how I'm trained to write after years of being at Wells where everything needs to be numbered and/or bulleted so people don't miss the ask, and using parentheses is frowned upon.

Did you really need an AI to compose a numbered list of 2 items
