Does anyone here actually know how they got the 15K number?
Was it formula based on Pay, Insurance, WFH?
Was it just spread across the whole business?
Was it mainly performance based?

Someone here surely knows this?

@aj been part of several planning of these but never to this extent. Several teams are nda including HR, Finance, WFP, etc. A target from above is provided with several criteria such as headcount, teams, etc. If it is territory or module base, then it distance or revenue to target. Pips are considered for sales. Sales leaders have less input for the ones I have done. The job and team itself is considered. Is there value or duplication. Example, can marketing do GTC, etc? Do B2B need Strategic and Midmarket or SMB and R2B? Those types of questions. If it is Operation or administrative, then management has more input. However, the several i have worked on, age, tenure,, and salary were not part of the criteria. There isn't an exact formula, that is why in some cases, top performers were let go and c players survived.

@aj Management ALWAYS has input. HR is has no idea what people do on a daily basis.

I took the buyout in 2018 and survived years of prior layoffs.. It never appeared to be merit-based because I saw high performers let go. It was always a cr-p shoot, which is why I left and have no regrets.

Directors were asked to submit names several weeks ago of people on their team who would make “the list”
