@nc You can't just say "...lawsuits are inevitable. Protect yourselves." and not explain how that is done.

Are you advising that we all hire a good attorney now? Are you advising that we all get into a union now?

A quick search shows that federal and state labor laws seem to allow this to happen.

"An employer can generally tell employees to accept a "rebadge" (transferring employment to an outsourced vendor or new corporate entity) or separate from the company, without formally designating it as a traditional layoff or offering severance.

The Basics of Rebadging and Employment

At-Will Employment: In most U.S. states, employment is "at-will". This means an employer can change job terms, require a transfer to a new entity, or end the employment relationship at any time, for any legally permissible reason. This may not apply to union members depending on the contract.

Refusing to Rebadge: You are not legally forced to accept a rebadge offer with a new company. However, if you refuse the transfer, the original employer is generally under no obligation to keep your current position open or continue your employment.

No Automatic Layoff or Severance: Companies frequently use rebadging or mandatory role changes to transition workforces without triggering formal layoffs. Federal and state laws in the U.S. do not require employers to provide severance pay or formal layoff packages unless specified in an employment contract, company policy, or collective bargaining agreement.

Unemployment Considerations

If you refuse a rebadge and the employer processes it as a refusal to work or a voluntary separation, it may affect your ability to collect unemployment benefits.

State unemployment agencies evaluate whether the refusal of a transferred job was for "good cause" (e.g., if the new pay, commute, or benefits are drastically worse)."

With the re-org, the 'old-gang' will have to prove real results. VZI is no longer protected from their failures. On shore execs can no long hide their failures. FINALLY the day has come where the 'Dallas' gang is finally being delt with.

@OP Shankar gone, Vivek gone, and SVPs having closed-door talks only with India Senior Directors while onshore is completely iced out. The playbook is obvious. We already saw the "rebadge or walk" ultimatum a few weeks ago—no third option. If severance packages aren't on the table for onshore cuts, lawsuits are inevitable. Protect yourselves.

Also notice that aside from a "new" CDO, the three SVP's are not being replaced. Their directs are all being spread across existing execs. Thinning the herd from the top down as well.

Alfonso, remove the AVP and Director roles immediately. They add no value and most are part of the same mafia. You only need Associate Directors and ICs to run the show with your picked 1-2 top leaders.

Alfonso, you and your team finally managed to deliver something worthwhile it’s about damn time. Don't you dare slow down now. Take this to its absolute limit and rip out every single one of his completely useless VPs. Start by throwing out that incompetent nepo baby Rahul immediately.

Good that finally this A--hole got kicked out. Well deserved treatment, these are not the leaders. The run the organization with fear and paycheck survival mentality, good that Verizon took a good decision to kick him out without a honor send off. Well deserved A--hole .
