Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Kinda wish I'd have been RIF'D Today. The reorg is gonna su-k. Double work with no pay increase.

And with the double amount of work you'll be at risk for making your goals. If you don't you are under performing and the next to be cut and maybe with no severance........?

Union gets a bad image but this is where they didn’t get reduced. Everyone from union is still here. Drank the koolaid and went with what was easy. Should have known to start it in my store….

I was part of the reduction. to be honest, I would have preferred to stay even if it means extra work. I dont have the luxury to be out of job. So people who are wishing they got laid off should consider that. it is not always greener on the other side.

Yep, now do 4x the work. "Pull the rope to help right the ship". Easy to say when you aren't in the trenches. SMH.

Nothing will change. Same lame nickel and dime our customers to death. Get caught up with out of USA customer service and people being sent to the stores for non-sales items while we fix the problem and get released in Feb 2026 because we helped people and opened accounts. We are not competitive. This was not a frontline issue... this was leadership and directional issues. Until we make a splash as a company and redefine what wireless should be we will see the same results. We lead our employees though intimidation and our marketing and pricing has been based on fear of losing. Well, we lost and it's time for a new strategy. If we see the same things coming from a fearful C-Suite then "no risk, no reward" and it's time to run from the company. As Sean Connery said in Hunt for Red October.... I give us a 1 in 3 chance of survival. With those odds I'd say it's time to abandon ship. If we don't see immediate change then the CEO is tipping his hand. Nothing up his sleeve but cuts and prayers. What a great way to start - eliminate your employees before the holidays. Kinda like breaking up with your girlfriend before her birthday to not have to give a gift. This is your culture now.

It was a little bit of a shock yesterday when I found out I was RIF'd. Being 100% honest, seeing the lack of raises, dog eat dog, toxic, scared for your life, work your a-s off, no budget for a #2 pencil environment Verizon has turned into since Dan, I'm beyond blessed to have been RIF'd while they are still providing a decent severance package. To the folks who remain, I'm sorry but I don't feel like you came out ahead in this. All of this is NOT going to help Verizon. It's going to put millions in Dan's pocket, and then he will say SEE YA, and move onto the next company to cut everyone and add even more to his pocket. Open your eyes and see this for what it is.

Find another job while you still have one. That's the only option. Nothing will get better unless YOU take action and make a change. If Verizon could fire everyone they would. You mean nothing to them. Move on. Att would love to have our talent. That's what I'm trying to do.
