If I get RIF'ed, how long can I stay in the company (notice period) to find a role internally, maybe?

@b7 not accurate. Maybe your experience. I know several people that got rif and applied and got another role. One person even got a promotion from Analyst to Consultant. Your statement is absolutely inaccurate. However, there are hardly any roles posted right now. Usually the rif candidate has those 4 weeks or so.
Been through this over 10 years ago. You can go ahead and apply for the internal jobs, but you won't get it. This happened to several of us that went through numerous interviews for multiple managerial openings. We would all get to like to a final interview and the offer would get pulled. An OPS director flat out told me that they wish they could hire us, but got pushback as we were tagged for the RIF.
The best advise I can give anyone going through this is: Take the severance, but read the paperwork to see if there's a no compete in the verbiage. Take your experience somewhere else and take time for yourself. You will be bitter, but that'll pass.
Nobody is getting approval for new reqs now.
3 months for NJ and 2 months for some other states (e.g., Colorado ) from what’s I saw before. Dependent on the state
They are getting rid of 15,000. There is no rehiring !!
We’ve been in hiring freeze, there won’t be open roles
there won't be any positions. They are RIFing 15% of workforce and I'm willing to bet there is a hiring freeze in place until end of the year. We're all sc--wed.
Doesn’t this depend on the state?
I'm just trying to understand if we'll get a month's salary too lol
@OP that’s if there’s any open roles in the system. Right now it’s only front line positions.
Depending on the notice date, I’ve seen as high as 2 months (end of Oct RIF), and as low as 2-4 weeks (end of Nov RIF).
