I’ve been commenting occasionally on the board for years trying to warn people that the only person at this company that cares about what is best for you and your family is you and to please act accordingly. Few listen.
It’s 2026 and people are just figuring out that nobody at the company really cares about you as employee? I thought this was obvious like five years ago at least. Did you look at all the past layoffs and think that you were somehow special and they cared about you but not all those people that got laid off before? I guess some people are really, really slow on the uptake. You should’ve started quite quitting years ago.
@2mb it is real. layoffs are like clock work at this company. Minions - those who got let go this time were once feeling lucky like you. It is just a matter of time for your luck to ran out. Top levels don’t care about employees.

Seagate is always looking out a year into the future and likes to trim staff early for that environment they see coming. They will tell employees everything is awesome but I think it's clear AI is a dotcom type of bubble. We also have a smaller number of products to develop going forward needing less staff. I think 2027 will be a big year for reductions and unfortunately good current financials don't mean much. Look for consolidation of departments and executive departures later this year to set the stage. Needless to say it might be prudent to save this years bonus.
How big was it? Heard a lot of teams doing complete changes.

Record market cap, company worth billions more than its ever been worth, and another fu--ing layoff. What a bunch of dou--e bags behind the wheel.
