Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Right size our pay

When the staff drops the 5-7% based on industry average, hopefully Fidelity will also fix the pay issues.

My BU hasn’t given raises in the last 3 years and said it’s based on market pay. With inflation hitting 20% since the start of the pandemic, compensation should be reviewed again.

How does Abby expect people to care about her bottom line when people are on government assistance and can’t afford groceries?

Because Fidelity doesn't want to commit to raises. Doling out one-off checks and other awards keeps them from paying it in perpetuity.

@1e3 only some people did and you should count yourself lucky. a lot of folks got zero bonus and no compensation adjustment with no warning.

Stop complaining. We received 2 extra paychecks last year.

You expect a person who stole the company from Dad to show mercy

@as it doesn't help things that Fidelity abuses a lot of H1B labor and similar immigrant labor. People here on those visas can't push back for fear of reprisal / being sent home. They're basically slaves to Fidelity, it's awful.

This is a company of cowards. No one ever speaks up, especially senior leadership. Small acts of defiance - leave at 5 pm, don't do weekends or nights.

If everyone collectively began to "act their wage", they'd be forced to change course quickly. Unfortunately most people are afraid of ramifications.
