Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

I’ve heard that certain-level associates may be moving from salary to hourly. Has anyone else heard this or know if there’s any truth to it?

@1g2 No skin in the game?! Whatever! I have been going after all 5 of the major for-profit health insurance corporations for two years now! And not just on this anonymous forum but also on very public sites. They all k ow exactly who I am so do not tell me that I do not have any skin in the game. I have made myself extremely vulnerable because I believe all 5 of these corporations need to be taken down.

But it cannot just be me. It needs to be efforts by many, not just one person to get the attention of our federal government and CMS.

My guesses is you are a leader that is trying to squelch any ideas of people going after the public image of this and the other corporations. Well, it will not work! We are fed up!!!

@1ce This company does not give a sh-t and nothing we do will send any message to them. If that were true we’d see better behavior from leadership. This is the worst advice I’ve heard and obviously the poster has no skin in the game. Easy to suggest when it doesn’t affect you.

@1dx You have no idea - I lived this life here before - TAT is a joke it's not being met now - if they use that as an excuse it will be to target people they want gone.

For the other side - NO ONE will stay a second past quitting time - and then what happens when a member needs help "urgently" - well you'll see - late shifts will be assigned. Business hours must be kept. Some group of losers will get a new shift.

And wait for Saturdays - good times - luckily we know how this goes for those of us who did it already and then....poof...back to salary - just in time for the holidays

@1bv Quite a few on my team were on after 5 today. Couldn't help chucking about how a day like today this plays out in a month. Get in trouble for staying on late/going into overtime or get in trouble for multiple cases going past TAT. Can't wait!

@19p If a large group of you all have enough savings (safety net) to leave, on the day they do that, turn in 2 week notice (or no notice if you are not concerned about that decision following your career). It will send a big message. In reality, it may not accomplish much.

But a large numbered walkout on a specific date, given the specific reason sends a large message. Not to mention, increases your all’s chance for a successful class action lawsuit.

@19p played this game before - its why alot of people left. I will hitting click done when my shift is over. Not one second longer. Heads up when a bunch of people left last time NO ONE CARED. Some things never change.

@OP
Yes! Just received word today in a big meeting for all nurses, UM and CM. It all starts 10/19. Many new rules. People will be fired if late 3 times.

Also UM and found out this week we're moving to hourly next month. I don't understand how this benefits the employer or employee.

Yes! UM is going hourly. How’s it going to affect production quotas? Leadership is saying they’re not changing the quotas which is ridiculous. You have to do trainings too in that time. Most nurses stay over to meet.

We were just told UM nurses go from exempt to non exempt effective 10/19/26

Wouldn't be the first time - usually means shift expansion into PM and weekend work. Ridiculous - make people hourly and they will reward your incredible leadership with a hard stop at quitting time - and not one second past
