I'm worried about finding a new job if I'm laid off

I've been talking with an acquaintance who was laid off six months ago (not from Nike), and he's still on the job hunt. He mentioned receiving a couple of offers, but the pay was way less than what he used to be paid, so he turned them down. He and I... — read more

CEO bad decisions result in everyone else suffering

Lay offs to multi millionaire CEO's and VP's may not seem a big deal... as no matter how they perform, they always get a huge payout and another role. Nike's current performance is largely due to the CEO's poor strategy (CDA / CDO) and has resulted... — read more

Are Director Titles getting targeted?

Do you all think inflated titles such as Directors may see more house cleaning than other roles? My org is full of inflated director roles where managers can easily report to Sr. Director.

It's about keeping the cheapest players

It's not about keeping the best players. It's about keeping the cheapest B and C players to do a good enough job to keep the lights on. This isn't about excelling through amazing talent. Nike, like Apple, has transitioned into a churn and burn... — read more

What happened? There are no launches anymore. I thought launching footwear was important, but maybe now it’s not necessary. Or maybe all the people who knew how to do it are gone?

This is the truth

Why are so many waiting to be laid off instead of taking charge of their lives and finding something better right away?

It's sad how low we have fallen

Nike used to be all about excellence. We used to take pride in that. Now, the highest goal is mediocrity in the service of cost savings. Then the leadership is shocked when the results are not what they were expecting. It would be funny if it wasn't... — read more

This will have nothing to do with merit

As always, Nike will be letting go of employees based on how much they get paid, not on how well they do their job. This will result in the best workers who've been earning a decent living for years getting the boot, while the lower-paid... — read more
