Topics regarding layoffs at Ford

No idea how the company is operating

One person goes on vacation and everything else comes to a stand still. Seems like most people are just sitting on their hands doing nothing and very few are actually productive with anything

End of Escape and Edge

Brilliant move to replace these two SUVs with EVs. The Lincoln version edge will be imported from CCP. JF and Billy are d-mber than I thought. Which one is D-mb and which one is D-mber? So more salary cuts coming to help make up for more huge EV... — read more

Yet another customer lawsuit.

Not ever a good thing when your customers sue you. Another hit to the brand. Hits keep on coming with recalls, lawsuits, and bad software. Back in July 2022, a group of Ford Mustang Mach-E owners filed a lawsuit following a recall that was issued... — read more

Will you be here 1 year from now?

Do you see yourself building a longer term career at this company (assuming you don’t get picked in the layoff roulette)? There doesn’t seem to be much growth , people are demoralized and the pay is absolutely below average in the industry. Why... — read more

Working for a failing company

Some people pretend to be happy at Ford and the rest admit they are unhappy. The work environment is very toxic. All these are signs of a failing company.

Anyone finding a job?

Looks like the job market is imploding. Anyone having any luck? https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/labor-market-implodes-job-openings-crater-prior-data-unexpectedly-revised-sharply-lower

Any tips on quiet quitting?

I want to take as many paychecks as I can and do the least amount of work before getting noticed. I don’t see a future here for me and don’t want to work my butt off for me to get affected in the next round

The hits keep coming: Explorer Recall

Small number but still another recall and punch to Ford’s gut. Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2023 Ford Explorer SUVs with the 2.3L EcoBoost due to an issue with the turbocharger oil supply line. The defect: in affected vehicles, the engine... — read more

As time goes on

A lot of innovations are going to be sold to you in the name of convenience. You will have to read the fine print to find out what you’re actually giving up.

Is F preparing for a merger or surrender?

I was laid off in June. Working for Ford suppliers my entire career, one of my goals in life was to work for Ford. I grew up in Dearborn. I sang songs about Henry Ford and how great he was in elementary school. I lasted 5 years and 7 months at... — read more

This place is insanely toxic

I’ve literally never worked anywhere else where people are like so anxious if they will be laid off or not every two to three months. Morale is in the toilet and im not surprised at all. What incentive does anyone here have to work hard and see this... — read more

If team is actively hiring more people ...

Does it mean you might be more immune from getting laid off? I don't understand how it would make sense to cut a team/ org that is already understaffed and needs more people

So is next week doomsday or not? ( Aug 28 2023)?

According to the posts here something big is happening next week but there is nothing in the media. Reuters reported it 4 days before it happened ( for June 2023) but right now I see nothing

Owning a Ford is like a box of chocolates

You never know what you’re going to get (but you will get something). No better way to alienate customers. We just don’t care about customers anymore. Several reported issues with the Ford F-150 have popped up during production of the current... — read more

IRS Interest Tables

Has anyone done the approximate math on this years IRS intrrest rate tables, compared to last year, and estimated a percentage drop in lump sum? Is the IRS/Fed Reserve going to once again indirectly encourage 1000 Ford employees to retire earlier... — read more

UAW going to shoot itself in the foot

If the UAW goes on strike and sales are lost that will just speed up the transfer of market share to non UAW manufacturers. This will lead to less work at the big 3 plants which will lead to less UAW membership. Which will lead to less bargaining... — read more

Mid- year review ?

So, I received my mid-year review. I was ranked below mid-point. What does that mean? Can I recover? My morale is already low.

EV inventory

Oh no, you mean the EV fairy isn't real?: https://jalopnik.com/dealers-are-turning-away-ev-inventory-report-1850771467 Good thing Ford's ramping up EV production.

I am not proud to work here

I took this offer out of desperation at the time and looking back, I genuinely feel I have sabotaged my career. The constant stress of not knowing if I will get laid off and the below market pay isnt worth it. I have no respect for most of my co... — read more
