I knew a person who went from agency to LL4 in just 4 or 5 years. This person was not particularly talented but could talk a good game, spoke with great confidence even when they had no clue what they were talking about and had an LL3 who loved them. This person was attractive, polished and well dressed. I worked closely with them when they were an LL6 and they frequently made comments like “fake it ‘til you make it”, “dress for the job you want, not the job you have” and “say anything with enough confidence and people will believe you”. They would become combative if someone disagreed with them and would hold a grudge forever. They loved the “yes” people. It doesn’t necessarily take talent to climb that fast but it does require a specific type of personality. If you can live with that level of “success” while having zero respect from your team go for it.

Much better off working with another car company than Ford. Volvo may buy or merge with Ford by 2027. ~ 5 years or so
