The reason AP is going to Aurora is because the execs don't want to co-mingle with them, which is why they were jammed into Westmont instead of staying at OB. Out of sight, out of mind.

Just to clarify -These people have no follett store experience
No happy ending for us.....
The stores are not the first cuts and certainly not the last. IT eliminated around 80 positions this year and many more to come as coding moves to Infosys. AP and Accounting are probably next just prior to the move to the new building. Heck, AP is... — read more

Priorities are mixed up at this company and the employee and customer are no longer first
I used to work at Corporate and the first thing the new president did upon her arrival was to remodel her office at a cost of almost 25k. This is the same office used by every president before her. And the worst part is she new the corporate office... — read more
"People Do Business With People They Know"
Remember that one? Hey, they've been on a mission to eliminate full time hourly positions for at least 6 years through the "don't hire a full-timer to replace a full-timer that goes". I'm not sure how they expect to staff a store with tiny, peak-time... — read more
BS (Bob Scholl or Bull Shit- you decide !)
How is laying off half the store and not replacing positions cuz you're in a hiring freeze customer focused ! Hey Bob- there's a line at the registers-better get your till out!
Undue Hardship on stores and home office
Not only does this put more stress on the store managers who have had their staff cut down to a skeleton but, home office employees have been told to push things through that normally we would have a more detailed discussion with the store before... — read more
Follett "Values".
You have to love that they laid off some people via a phone call and then spouted the Follett "Values" in the email notification. "Each and Every Associate"? Yeah right.
short sighted
Like all Home Office initiatives, this is doomed to failure. All the people who had been sticking their fingers in their ears and chanting "la la la" while Follett went to hell in a handbasket the past few years, maintaining optimism and loyalty... — read more

It seems like there is no one left of the old regime with Steve Pribyl, Tom Christopher, Don Olsavicky and others gone.
Also, it appears no one with real in store experience is left at home office. Wonder when Bob S, Howard T, Jenn H will jump ship or be "retired".
The brutal way that long time employees, with bills to pay, health care needs and dependent children at home, were fired is BEYOND pathetic.
You come to work, prepared to work, but then a complete stranger calls you into an office and fires you with no forewarning. What a company! Instead of "People First", Follett needs to change their tagline to "Employees Last."
PeopleFirst?
This is a terrible way to terminate someone. Not face to face. You build relationships with employees and vice versa - that is how a company succeeds. "Instead I got on speaker phone with someone from corporate who I barely knew, that let me go. This... — read more
3wm
3wm = 3 way match = the bullshit accounts payable system that doesn't work half the time that home office holds the stores accountable for.

No happy ending for us
We were a bit heavy on the FT side, so I expected cuts there. I am surprised they did not hit Oak Brook first, one IT resource costs probably like a couple or more of store resources. Let's see what happens, but I am pretty sure they will hit the... — read more
