spring rush will be a disaster.
Anonymous2668 whats with the east coast
Everybody hears the rumors from their company relationships, typically in their vicinity. I only hear the ones about the home office areas - some big ones on the way if rush numbers don't improve.

What's with east coast? there are over 900 hundred stores. it's not all about the east coast.
Regarding bonus payouts
I work in corp HR and got my bonus payout last month too. They are not paid once a year.

Yes, Howard is still in his role. Hatton was just promoted to VP Sales and Operations based out of home office. Not sure what they means for Bob.
re: Don't put decline at Follett on Sears or KMart ex-employees
Well I understand the point, but you don't bring over the designers of the Hindenburg to try and fix the Titanic
Dinosaurs hanging on
Is Howard Taylor still there? Cannot believe it if he is...what about Hatton?
east coast fall out?
Heard whispers of east coast stores planning on getting rid of text managers and replacing with part timers and store managers as well, any truth? Also this will be the last year for bonuses for managers, next year they will be getting rid of them... — read more

Yes, DeVry is gone.
Get out NOW! It's so much better on the other side.
Anyone else hear about DeVry dropping Follett? Heard from a friend that works for DeVry. If they really just lost one of their largest, if not the largest client they are really in trouble. If they can't even keep DeVry, the numbers are really going... — read more
To Anonymous2540 Concerning: Don't put decline at Follett on Sears or KMart ex-employees
Of course they are not responsible for the current sales declines, but considering that KMart and Sears were run into the ground, it is unlikely that same leadership talent now at Follett will do anything but the same for Follett. Typically you hire... — read more
Follett already gave themselves a huge dividend to themselves Dec 2012. Maybe not to all the shareholders but the owners got it in the millions.
If they won't pay $750 to staff a bookstore that HAS business then they are going to turn around and say everything was the previous leadership problems, really? Sounds like our politicians. So no staff and don't bother excepting anything to be fix... — read more
Another lie...
The biggest joke was the promise that 100% of the hours would be replaced for rush. Instead, the store I'm at had 80+ hours cut and I received a "that is your problem" type of response from the regional (sales are good.) I'm fairly sure the regional... — read more
Anonymous2570 (Concerned share holder)
Who would buy the company now? No one wanted to buy the company two years ago when it was for sale before the last two years of sales declines. Follett should borrow heavily and pay out huge dividends to the shareholders (Follett family) as that is... — read more

Audrey is doing fine managing the move of the offices to the single facility. She is the right hand person to Mary Lee.....don't worry she will do just fine in the long run.
Can't keep up.
Who is Elsperman?
What happened to Audrey?
Heard she refused to report to Elsperman-- how juvenile

This idea won't last long. Everything Follett stocks is awful and ridiculously overpriced.
Bottom line
Follett is facing an uphill task in attempting to create substainable growth in a market that is changing rapidly toward the elimination of companies required to order, stock and sell hard copy texts. Eventually all publishers will circumvent Follett... — read more

Regarding the Sears / kmart comment
I didn't mean that those characters are not at fault and I agree with all of your remarks. It's just that the previous leadership wasn't a brain trust. Everyone knew we had poor leadership but as long as the family got a dividend check they chose to... — read more

If you work at Follett's Oak Brook office--have you ever seen a member of the senior staff in their office before 8:30 am or after 5:30pm. The office on Friday afternoons is a ghost town and The LEADER of that group took about 10-12 vacation weeks... — read more
