After 100 years, Follett learns students really want new books
GT and DG just learned and communicated at the town hall that students prefer to purchase new books at their higher prices than used books. Follett has had it wrong for the past 100 years.
So long, good luck
This will probably be my last post here, since I'm no longer with Follett and several of my friends and contacts got the battle axe this week. If you came over in the Neebo acquisition, good luck. Many of (but certainly not all) Follett employees... — read more
Reorganization, retooling, reevaulating...
How long does it take to realize your company is sinking million and millions into nothing but dry holes. Look at the company it doesn't take a genius to figure we've been going the wrong direction on a "one way" street. And any first grader can tell... — read more
The blind leading the blind
It's amazing how the offices' walls aren't padded down... it's more like reporting to a mental institution than an place of business.
It's not just SS, how about DG and GT?
Talk about driving the company off of a cliff, they have no plan, no knowledge, and are extremely arrogant. Arrogant and stupid is a very ugly combination. When will the family realize these two clowns are destroying what is left of a once proud... — read more
Just curious about why SS still has a job...
I mean really, going back 40 years...has there been anyone more who promised more and delivered less? I just don't understand what is keeping him in place? It's kind of crazy isn't it? The first meeting I was in he casually bragged about how he was... — read more

INSIDER: Follett Buyback Pricing
Would someone on "the inside track" PLEEEEEEZE spill the beans on Follett's bluebook pricing? Am I to have the impression that Follett no longer wants independent suppliers? Or is this just temporary while they clear out their warehouse of the books... — read more

A Leader’s Attitude is Contagious – For Better or Worse
"The problem with a leader having a bad attitude is that it’s like a virus … it spreads quickly." Sames applies to ethics, lies, bullying and how everyone treats everyone else.
What if we didn't blame others.........................
What if we all led from the inside out? Really embodied the qualities we'd like to see in our colleagues and team? What if we could simply, as Gandhi suggested, "be the change we wish to see in the world?"
Girl power
Were there ever any significant contributions by the all female operations team that was created at the home office a year and a half or so ago? Much was promised but I suspect the new management stunted their growth. Am I wrong?
It's story time
Did you know that Nebraska Book Company actually paid another company to come up with the name "Neebo?". I'm sure it took countless hours of deliberation and meetings to come up with the name. They wanted a new that was catchy and fresh...they... — read more
Retalon; letting the dead horse stop twitching?
Bin and Hold dates decentralized, Retalon deactivated for all but 40 locations chosen by the HR. We're holding on to less than before too. So it turns out the old processes weren't so broken? Maybe now we can all get back to work like we're supposed... — read more

Is it me or are the Managers are falling back into the same old bad habits?
They talk about change, efficiency being agile, and work.different but when it comes down to it, they are too afraid to actually make the changes and be the first one to step up. I am so tired of the talk, let's do something and move forward. I feel... — read more
