Decided not to stress about coming LR

I’m already doing bare minimum, just enough to keep the job. I’ve been looking for another job for a while now, and came across some decent offers. I will just use the time to hone in on the best ones, and, god willing, Cisco will liberate me during... — read more

Any news on CX org.?

Has anyone's manager or Dir. or VP hinted at what is coming for the CX org. more especially for CSEs, SPMs? I saw a post here, cuts expected and that Liz doesn't like these roles. It seems that AppD has still kept the customer success/SPM team - is... — read more

Stressed TAC engineer

I’m in TAC and fairly certain I’ll be affected by this LR. I’m considering taking a leave of absence to prolong the inevitable and give myself more time to job search. I’m feeling quite stressed, and it’s impacting my day-to-day life, so this break... — read more

Keep this in mind

It's a terrible job market. I know several experienced, well qualified people out of work for over a year. More experienced you are, harder it is. 130000 people from just Tech sector has already been laid off this year as per layoffs.fi All the... — read more

Having a month until layoffs is not a bad thing

Use the following month to: Update your resume and skills (there isn't much time for the latter, but you can at least start). Start networking. It'll be easier to reach out to somebody regarding a possible job if you contacted them before just to... — read more

Who picks for LR

Wondering if managers are aware who is going to be impacted or even they are blindsided ?

When does severance package end

Hypothetical question: say you get laid off on September 16, but accept a job offer outside of Cisco and plan to leave soon after, say September 20. Would LR severance be cut short? A previous comment somewhere else indicated your severance ends as... — read more

Another way to save money

The delay in layoffs is nothing but another way for them to save money. They know how mentally taxing this is and how many people will decide that the better option is to leave as soon as they can instead of waiting to see what's going to happen. The... — read more

US Commercial Embarrassment

Gulf Coast being top region is embarrassing for US Commercial. Our AVP told us that it is a legacy territory region with the smallest goal in the US. AVP stated they should either get a big boy goal or be sent down to SMB and be virtual.

New H1B job postings in RTP

Damn ELT, how is it that you need to take time to work on the LR lists and have the necessary resources available to the impacted workforce, but you already know how many jobs you want to fill with H1B's?! I visited the RTP campus and saw that there... — read more

1 month

What is everyone doing for this month

It’s not that bad

I uploaded my resume last night for the first time in years and had a few voicemails this morning. My advice is to use this time to sharpen your interviewing skills.

Canada package

Does anyone have information on the exit package in Canada? Lots of posts about the US but not much with Canada

What would you do?

Accept a time-sensitive job offer right now or wait to see if you'll get severance?

Performance-based layoffs

I honestly wouldn't have any issues with layoffs if they were based on performance. Literally, none. Sadly, layoffs have not been performance-based for years. Instead, we keep losing the best performers over and over again. Cisco logic never ceases... — read more

I know I'm among the lucky ones

I've only been with Cisco for two years. I'm also single and don't have any kids so if I'm laid off, it's just me I have to worry about. I look at my older coworkers, and some of them seem petrified. It's a completely different situation for most of... — read more
