Cisco can still get back on track

They may still be able to get back in the saddle but that depends on the ELT. They have these useless layers of directors, managers, etc. especially in sales and CX, who do absolutely nothing. They do not add value, do not build business and... — read more

The Game

Target over 40 workers and non Indians in LR. Throw about 20-30% under 40's in there to hide the discrimination. Then, most internal opportunities are given to under 40 and Indian. You end up with a real layoff in 90% of over 40. We know. They... — read more

Dying company

It's quite surreal. Never a word about tech trends, competition, new products, nothing. Exactly. It's a sign of a dying company. Unfortunately, I do not believe that Cisco will ever get back on track and focus on new products or trends again... — read more

RTP

tired of seeing all the trolls and everything regarding RTP. a lot of people read this site not knowing if things are trolls or not. With that being said, is RTP really closing and if so where was this announced and is it on Cisco's sites anywhere?

Cisco has lost its mind

Joined TAC in right before the pandemic really kicked off. In the years since there is an increase focus on “metrics” in tac, and management uses them to paint a sh---y picture of whoever they don’t like. I have watched initiatives to literally... — read more

ANOTHER USELESS LEADERS CHECKIN

All sh*ts ELT talk about is politics, the travel to Davos, and social impact. Lets be real. Who cares about that when Cisco is laying people off and bleeding talents? ELT just lives off of company money to fulfill their self-ego and is... — read more

Why is HR so rude

After over 40 mins in the hold queue, the HR rep was incredibly rude as soon as he found out I was impacted by the layoffs and needed to ask about the separation plan. And he gave incorrect information. It’s traumatizing enough to be laid off without... — read more

Tech company with more frequent layoffs?

Cisco is certainly not a company for those who cannot bear the pressure of never being able to relax knowing that cuts are a constant threat here. Is there any other tech company with a higher layoff frequency than Cisco? I doubt it.

leader call

Anyone else on it? Did they use the opportunity to provide clarity on the restructuring and provide empathy? Or did they show pictures of the exec leaders travelling and enjoying themselves at Davos? Place your bets ... Honestly, you couldn't... — read more

Sadly, this is most likely true

“Controlling labor costs via periodic layoffs is like breathing for Silicon Valley: cyclical, necessary for life,” Malcolm Harris, author of the forthcoming book “Palo Alto: A History of California, Capitalism and the World,” told me. The layoffs... — read more

Wait for the Recession based LRs

This was just the "rebalancing" LR. Do not forget that CR said this "rebalancing" will continue till Nov 2023. This is just January. The LR due to recession is yet to be announced, my dear CCSGs (Cisco Certified Sacrificial Goats). Till then, be... — read more

They pretty much just admitted age discrimination

"Data error" in first round of calcs. Actual numbers of older workers affected dramatically higher than they "initially thought." A good law firm could destroy them on this. Discovery could well find out that the first data calc was "massaging the... — read more

Well that was a flop

Barely any AMs or SEs were layed off. They had us all worrying over nothing.

US Commercial

I didn’t believe it but I got read the cold, impersonal script this morning. The hand finally came back to bite me.

Cisco UK Layoffs

Anyone receive consultation emails for LR this morning? Or am I the only "lucky" one? Although, there has to be at least 99 people affected for these emails to come out. Bang after end of H2.

AppD is dying

Fake opps in the pipeline Low morale Increased workload to cover those that got laid off AppD Cloud is a joke - even open source is better The leaders have hardware but no software sales experience

Internal Moves so Common at Cisco... But...

Instead of hiring from other companies, why does the company prefer to hire from within the company? If the company doesn’t hire from other companies, it gets more and more toxic and political, doesn't it? Just vicious cycle. Has anyone moved from... — read more

Americas Sales Layoffs Coming Up

As we know, the Americas Sales has been a disaster under RB. The worse is yet to come from RB. The new quarter will start with layoff notifications that will be demoralizing. Sadly, this will be the new norm under her reign of incompetence. Rest... — read more

TAC Japan seems to have started laying off

Several colleagues of mine at TAC Japan told me that they had an interview with Director of TAC Japan, not with their manager. They were asked to leave or move. Seems the layoff has finally come to Japan. What about you?

The job market is actually not that bad

I'm not saying it's ideal, but several of my colleagues have found work on the current job market, which means you shouldn't despair but send applications! What are the experiences of others who are now trying to land something new?
