Topics regarding layoffs at AT&T

I'm more worried about layoffs

Do I want to RTO? He-l no. But between that and being laid off, sadly, I'd take RTO. I am happy for those of you who can afford to lose your job over this. I'm glad you have an option of not complying and risking it all. I don't have that option. So... — read more

RTO = attrition

As simple as that. Its only purpose will be to chase away as many people as they can without cashing out. I intend to comply. I will sit in some corner of some dirty office and use the dirty keyboard, being half as productive due to noise and limited... — read more

RTO 5 days 1/1/2025

I've heard from multiple people that we are going to be forced back to the office 5 days/week starting 1/1. My biggest question is: why? I haven't seen a single productivity metric from the C-Suite. I thought they'd already hit their goal of layoffs... — read more

For those tired of leadership and looking to leave

I think it's safe to say that many people here are unhappy with AT&T and would jump at the chance to leave if they could maintain (or even improve) their compensation. This post is for the people who genuinely want to put in the effort to make that... — read more

SSP

Wondering why we haven’t heard anything on the SSP??

Just another expense

It's exhausting to feel like management only sees us as a cost they want to cut. Do they really think AT&T can thrive without the people who do the actual work? Not going from a useless meeting to a useless meeting, but doing to work that keeps this... — read more

5-day RTO will not chase me away

I will comply with all administrative requirements. But I will also do bare minimum instead of putting in an effort, adhere strictly to office hours (so no more accommodating work requirements outside regular office hours), and wait for them to lay... — read more

5 day RTO announced

My group announced return to office 5 days a week starting Jan 2025. Yikes.

Employee head count YOY

New Contract

As we move forward with the new contract we will slowly see how much CWA negotiating team lied, and how much they protected their own, OPT. Now that we know OPT can pretty much bump anyone. Just found out I can no longer go to Ascension, if you plan... — read more

3rd Q results email

Does anyone else throw up in their mouths when they hear him say thank you for all of our hard work because through the other side of his mouth he’s telling his reports to keep F’ing us harder?

Fiber missed expectations due to work stoppage

AT&T's fiber business added 226,000 customers, missing expectations of 257,860 additions, according to Visible Alpha. This was mainly driven by a work stoppage that began in August in its southeast region and impacted fiber installations. (Reuters)... — read more

Don’t hand them a win on a silver platter

I see people saying they're planning to quit and I can't figure out their logic. Why in the world would you help them by quitting? That's exactly what they want, they're hoping people will walk away on their own. No severance to worry about, no... — read more

Legg should pipe it with the politics

Number one rule about the office is to keep politics at home. Then you have Mr. Honey I Shrunk the Kids ranting about the election for a good five minutes into the town hall as the first thing out of his trap. This dweeb should consider how much... — read more

Surplused in May and still no job…

I was in the mid-May wave and had just hit my 23 yr mark. I’ve officially applied to 400 jobs as of today. The job market is rough. I’ve gotten 130 no’s and nothing on the rest. I’ve had two interviews but they didn’t pan out, one they out on hold... — read more

Minimalist

Going to work today laughing about putting out the very least amount of effort as possible without getting fired, also thinking about more ways to get more days off work - paid of course.

The CEO world

Keeping it real…. What has happened to T-Mobile? Actually, that's a pretty easy question to answer. With CEO Mike Sievert apparently more interested in the well-being of the company's stock instead of the company's subscribers, making sure that... — read more

Cal-cobra

Hoping someone has already navigated these waters. Ended time with T almost 18 months ago. I’ve been taking advantage of COBRA. As I live in CA I’ve been thinking I get 3 years of COBRA. I’m starting to hear that’s not true as T isn’t based here... — read more

What will happen to AT&T if the market crashes?

Do you think there will be mass layoffs in addition to ones now during a recession even if it's a short one? I'm interested in opinions. Can AT&T survive given its dependency on the consumer?
