What’s the deal with people being asked to come back as contractors?
Shouldn’t that be illegal, especially if we’re talking about former long timers who generated good earnings throughout the years. Isn’t that just the same as telling someone he can work for the company, but with lower wages and no benefits, just... — read more
Run away from VDSI
Run away from VDSI. Life there will become hell soon. Year after year they come with some horrific ideas to better the work model. Next year they will realise and try to correct it with the next idea. This goes on. This year is pooling model. Most of... — read more
Is the final goal to outsource all that’s possible?
Looks to me that way. Headcount reduction is still looks like the priority of the VZ leadership. Just wondering what departments are next to go to third party companies, after IT?
Future is infosys deal
They are planning to expand beyond IT to meet deal obligations. More changes coming in April
How many more do they want to lay off before they are satisfied with the headcount?
Public announcements are one thing, reality is another, think we all learned that. Even with the buyout, reorgs and layoffs the leadership still doesn't look satisfied. I don’t think that layoffs will ever stop being a threat, but how much more folks... — read more

Have the reorgs ever really stopped?
Is it possible the there is a continuation of the reorganization at VZ in the manner that changes never stopped but rather that they are performing them in smaller portions a throughout a longer period of time, possibly to void the panic associated... — read more
5g scares the hell out of me
I've reached the point where I'd actually be relieved if the worst thing about 5g is that it's going to be used to spy on everyone and then in rare instances used as a weapon against people trying to overthrow the regime . What scares me is that 5g... — read more

Any layoffs in April in Verizon India?
I'm hearing some layoffs as part of 2.0 in Verizon India is it true?
Now that we know 5G isn’t what it was hyped to be....
...where does the company go from there? The company admitted we wouldn’t see anything worth noting about 5G for another 5-8 years. We have aging copper that needs to be updated. TV is a dying business. Wireless has plateaued. Verizon Media/Oath, not... — read more
To take or not to take, that is the question!
I have 28 1/2 years with VZ and I'm 50, take a buyout with an extra kicker or make 500K over the next 4 years? I've had enough with VZ but I can handle it till the end of contract. I think most people feel the same.
