Just wondering thoughts, If Comcast is adding employees in a department do you think that would mean it’s unlikely that department would see layoffs? Or the two actions don’t link up and mean anything? My thinking is if a Company is planning to layoff people in a department it wouldn’t make since to hire people but then I think back historically when Comcast laid off an entire sales department and they just hired someone in that department less than a month and laid off that employee as well.

@cm yeah, similar. We hired two people 2 months before and a third two weeks before layoffs were announced. Another guy got promoted in NED just a few weeks before it was announced to be cut. Hiring freeze? No, not the multimillionaires at the top of Comcast. They don’t want you to sense a layoff is coming and quit early in case you’re one of the ones they want to keep. Gotta hide the canary in the mine to keep the train running and line their pockets even if it means letting the measley “thousandaires” switch jobs that these multimillionaires know they’ll be laying them off from days after.
I got promoted in West Div 48 hours before the announcement. To a team that got cut. My previous team didn't.

There was an employee in NED who accepted a job offer 48 hours before the Division elimination announcement. Nobody knew it was coming.
