Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Today the final reckoning begins.

Today when the bell rings. The final reckoning begins. Nike is going to reap what its owed. The years of woke advertisement, DEI, the coverups, the bad choices they kept making. It's all boomeranging back. The allainating of the man in the street, it's over.
Today it begins, and October 1 it ends.

A lot of US consumers stopped buying Nike after Kaepernick and Mulvaney. Nike pushed away some of their biggest consumer groups, proud American's and Women. They never apologized or course corrected but can't figure out why the company is in the sh----r.

@ns you are an embarrassment to us decent human beings. Can't wait until you crawl back in your hole when your dear leader is thrown to the pigs

As if a butch that makes up less than 1% of the population knows what the general public wants. Yet Nike has half of their management team being butches. No wonder the stock and business is on a downward trajectory.

@nr and yet sales are down and the stock is at a 10 year low, all coinciding once they made the management team 50% Ellen Degeneres. Keep coping, the writing is on the wall.

@kb pure cope lol. Magas obsession with white male supremacy is going to be socially unacceptable after midterms as all the corrupt ducks abandon Trump in droves. The pendulum will shift back to "woke" aka making racism and s-xism socially unacceptable again.

We need accountability from our leaders and middle management. Too many people working on the same damn thing. It has to be fixed for us to win again!

The whole woke movement was closely tied to Nike's decline.

This concept that women should represent nearly half of leadership goes against basic rules of biology. Women are (on average) disproportionately susceptible to groupthink, play things safe, aren't able to take serious risks, behaviors that are fatal to leading a company like Nike. Groupthink and conformity are historically adaptive behaviors ingrained in women's biology. Nike's downfall is directly tied to chasing after inclusivity and force fitting too many women into key leadership roles while losing sight of its core consumer and what made Nike great in the first place. Nike went from elite athletes and inspiration to 300lb models and Kardashians as major partners, all while real stars like Mbappe left for competitors. What once separated Nike from every other sports brand is gone.

There are signs that a correction is underway, with public opinion finally catching up. A conservative reckoning is coming, along with a push to restore the more masculine traits that are essential to leadership. You're starting to see the shift now, and it's only going to grow from here.

Nike lost so much institutional knowledge during the layoffs that began in 2020. It’s amazing to see what those long term employees have gone onto to do within the industry and beyond. Life beyond the Berm

Biggest problem is Nike has hired people who know nothing about product… just corp a-s kissers who are dead weight

People down voting you op but truth hurts 🤷‍♂️

Just compare the company today to what it was in it's prime. Everything is struggling. Product quality, never ending reorgs at individual and leadership levels, little to no innovation, and losing top level athletes. We got Kim Kardashian and lost mbappe. I mean what the he-l is that?

While simultaneously sticking our noses in every "feel good" political justice movement while using child and slave labor overseas. Ignoring womens right issues such as disappearance of Peng Shuai. We simultaneously pi---d off both sides of the spectrum.

Take a look around outside of Nike campus or close to it. Rarely do I see people wearing Nikes anymore.

@OP Hyperbole much?

Nike has problems: structural, financial, messaging, directional, etc. It is not on the verge of collapse. It needs to find its way in a more crowded and competitive marketplace. It needs to adapt to changing consumer tastes. It needs to reorient itself to being a major industry force instead of being THE dominant industry force.

Nike is at a crossroads. In my opinion, it needs to re-invent itself with a nod to its past without being a slave to that past. It needs to get smarter. It needs to hire better. It needs to create trends again and not chase them. More brains. More creativity. More innovation. Less kingdom building, pretense, ladder climbing, and vibes.

Alienate. Spell check please if you haven’t seen the word. Messages lose their power with illiteracy. You lose credibility.
