Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

AI CEO

I would like to propose to the Board of Directors that Humana replace the current CEO with an AI version to make all of the big corporate decisions for the company.

The new AI CEO will make great decisions and will work for $0.00 income.

This is a cutting edge move that will grab news headlines and shareholder interest!

Please give it some serious consideration.

As a simple worker bees, in reading the below posts, and particularly the one where the leader falsely accused the OP, with an assumed inference, I am now wondering if this is the way our leaders, our Directors, our Associate Directors, our Managers, if that is how they see us, as though we worker bees, if our lives, have less intrinsic values than theirs.

And if, therefore, that is the way they deem us to be more replaceable because they deem their careers and what they do to somehow hold more intrinsic value than ours.

Do they think of us as little ants to be used and utterly expendable and therefore can be exploited and used because in their eyes we mean nothing. Like something they would scrape off the bottom of their shoe when done with us?

Anyway, this shines a whole new light as to how I see my leaders, now that I know how they see us.

@k7 Agree. The OP did not say nor inferred that leaders did nothing, only that AI could do their jobs better and more cost efficient to the company, given their higher salaries snd overhead, such as company travels and wasted meetings and whatnot.

But the leader that responded to the OP did show their hand that They (the leader) thinks employees below leader roles do NOTHING and should be replaced with AI.

To that, I say, Boooo!

@gb That’s weird. The OP say nor inferred that Directors, Associate Directors, and Managers do nothing. Just it would be cost efficient to use AI for those roles and with what we have heard recently as to the capabilities of AI, could perform the roles well, maybe better.

So, now after reading this falsely accusatory response from this (I assume Director, Associate Director, or Manager) leader and am wondering if perhaps we can assume by inference that this leader believes that workers below these roles do nothing and is the reason why they (this leader) thinks those workers roles below them make better candidates to be replaced by AI.

If that be the case, not cool! Us “worker bees” below the roles of Director, Associate Director, and Manager, we also do a lot and are very technical and have lots of health insurance acumen.

So, why in the world you would think that is non-leader workers are better candidates to be replaced with AI than YOU, is erroneous!

Things that make you go Hmmmm.

@gb In all honesty, not all, but most of the Directors, Associate Directors, and Managers I have worked for and with belong to a Level Tier 1 Leader as defined in
John Maxwell's 5 Levels of Leadership.

  • Level 1: Position (Rights)
    • People follow you because they have to do so.
    • Authority relies strictly on your job title.
  • Level 2: Permission (Relationships)
    • People follow you because they want to do so.
    • Influence grows through trust, care, and connection.
  • Level 3: Production (Results)
    • People follow you for what you have done for the organization.
    • Credibility comes from consistent execution and winning.
  • Level 4: People Development (Reproduction)
    • People follow you for what you have done for them personally.
    • Focus shifts to investing in others and building new leaders.
  • Level 5: Pinnacle (Respect/Legacy)
    • People follow you because of who you are and what you stand for.
    • Requires long-term dedication to create a lasting positive impact.

@gb For starters, what I said was that AI could lead better. But since you brought it up, I will address in a second.

As far as my being a leader, I have been team captain of wrestling team in high school. At age 17, I was a supervisor for a flagging control team on a complex road construction event. In the military for several years led a squadron. At a wood molding factory, I was a supervisor. I also had employees report to me ar Humana. And at every job I have held, I have been a “go to” person for others that reached out when they got stuck and wanted my assistance. So, you could say I was a “leader” for them as well, as they looked up and counted on me. So, I do know some about leading.

Now, to you accusation, I will address. Many, not all, of the Directors and Associate Directors I worked with at Humana lacked proper professional leadership skills. There, I said it! That is not out of any jealousy or bitterness. Just a cold fact of truth.

But, once again, if you go back and read my posts, nothing, not one word said anything about Directors or Associate Directors not being able to lead. Only that AI could lead better AND save the company money, while doing so.

@f5 Don't forget to AI the Board of Directors too

@f5 Your inference that Directors, Associate Directors, and Managers do nothing is beyond ignorant. I don't know what area YOU work in, but these are among the lowest levels of leadership and are directly and frequently engaged in projects, troubleshooting, etc. Work would not get done if there were no leadership at all. Since when have you ever had a job with NO management? You sound like a bitter plebe who just doesn't like management of any sort and think you can do better despite probably never having tried to lead others, yourself.

@c8 Besides AI just replacing C-suite Executives, AI should also be used to replace SVPs, VPs, Directors, Associate Directors, and Managers.

Just keep the actual workers that do the day to day operations, and remove all of the wasted high salaries at the top and use AI for those positions and watch (Board of Directors) just how much savings Humana will incur and watch how fast Humana’s stock will skyrocket higher and faster than it ever has!

I just hope when we give all of the c-suite executives their pink slips and tell them they can go home, their services are no longer necessary due to AI, that they do not take it personally. It is just business, which we are sure you all can understand.

C-suite executives, if you happen to read this, you had a good run. But now it is time to step aside and let AI step in and do your jobs. It is absolutely nothing personal; it is just times have changed and the company needs to look at what is most efficient for Humana and also how can the company save money.

When we add up all your salaries and considered that AI can do you jobs much better, it was a no brainer. This simply needs to happen. But I am sure you all will find something to do. And we will give you all 1 free month of Cobra, for your sacrifice.

@a8 Has nothing to do with “wanting blood.”

It is nothing personal; it is all about efficiencies and cost savings.

For some reason, this post generated a pound tag of “#sarcasm.”

But no “sarcasm” intended whatsoever. Totally serious about this proposal to tje Board of Directors.

Give it some serious consideration, please. Thank you.
