So, since they “promoted” 75% of the bank with bestowing bank officer titles to almost everyone, they now require a 30 day resignation notice?
What happens if we DON’T give notice and just quit? Or are only able to give a two week notice?

A lot of people, surprisingly.
@a2 oh no!!! Who would ever come back to work here after leaving?!?
It’s all part of the psyops at this awful bank! Charlie and his d-mb goons can’t fire everyone and/ or lay people off fast enough, but anyone leaving on their own is suddenly locked into long notice periods just because. Seriously F this place and f everyone who has created this environment. Trash bank and ineffective leadership running amok.
75% of employees are not VP and up, and only a fraction of the actual VP+ get RSUs. Without those there's no leverage, so the percentage of employees actually impacted by these notices periods really isn't very large. Don't get me wrong, they are stupid, but the scope of the problem is no where close to 75% of employees.
Wells Fargo can fu-k right off. When I get my new job I will be submitting a resignation for the day that I send it. OMG!!!! I’m not rehire-able???? Like I give a sh-t. I will never apply for another job with Wells Fargo.
@hh So you can fully document what you do in Jira.
The notice periods are ridiculous. 30, 60, or 90 days based on bullsh!t officer titles. Why do they need 3 months notice when they aren't going to replace/backfill your job??
F' Em. If they want to claw back my paltry RSU's ..... Let 'Em.
YES! As soon as they catch wind that you are leaving, they will shut EVERYTHING you touch down/
As a recruiter once told me for California, they can say whatever they want, the state requires 3 day notice. Give them 3 days, and you're legal.
@d6 unvested RSUs. You always lose those when you voluntarily quit.
@b9 you are getting paid for them. You aren’t working the last 2 weeks and collecting money. Think about it.
Has anyone ever heard of them trying to claw back RSUs? What would that process even look like? Seems expensive for them as it would inevitably result in litigation.
If you have any deferred compensation you'll lose that also.
@a7 you get paid for your unused PTO - why would you burn them?
I gave notice in 2025 and they told me I could leave at the end of the same day. Got paid for the two full weeks. I was going to work for Ally, so I guess they viewed that as a competitor.
Just tell them you got an auditing job with the OCC. You won't be around for 30 days. Not in the office at least.
For most of the employees, they will let you go as soon as you give the notice.
It's really not that hard to give notice. Added bonus, you can stop going to the office. What are they gonna do.
Wells Fargo: If you don’t give 30 days notice, you’ll never work here again
Us: Do you promise?
Just take 2 weeks of PTO and give the end as your resignation date. Then start the new job after 2 weeks.
It's a paper tiger. Unless you have RSUs, the only thing they can really do to force compliance is mark you ineligible for rehire. If you don't care - and you shouldn't, it's like a principal threatening a kid with "this is going on your permanent record" - it's pretty meaningless. You should be developing private references to provide future employers anyway rather than relying on your employer to provide reference.
Given that they're also trying to manufacture reasons to performance manage more people out because their attrition measures are failing, they'll probably soon be in a situation where the vast majority of people who leave wells are marked in ineligible for rehire.
It used to be that you gave two week notice as a courtesy, and in return received goodwill in the form of being eligible for rehire. Now that they’ve foisted an unrealistic 30-day notice on many people, I’d say this longstanding gentleman’s agreement is over. If 30 days doesn’t work for you, unless you’re trying to be nice to friends you work with, might as well make it immediate.
@OP you get marked ineligible for rehire, that’s it
