@mr They sometimes fail to issue WARN notices and end up having to pay extra severance to people. The sad truth is, the longer a person stays at BD, the less marketable they become. I have been told this by several recruiters in the pharma/med device industry. It was different years ago, but now, BD has a very lackluster reputation for having strong talent, especially in IT. After having worked at BD in TGS for a few years, the best move I made was to get out before it was too late. Many people in BD now just tolerate the constant turmoil and lack of stability because they feel uncertain about their ability to find a job elsewhere, and rightly so!

best advice I think is to watch for them filing WARN notice with the state. It's coming - always does - they are out of other ideas.
agree - we have no idea how many are coming, but they're never really over. sure would be nice to have a crystal ball, or some inside knowledge or warning. it's just sad that low morale is so common all across the company but how can it not be, things have gone from bad to worse and now we have the year end layoffs to try to make it through. didn't use to be this way but seems like all bu's, all functions seem miserable and are worried.
