I have bad news for you. Hundreds of job postings we have are typically either intended to transition a contractor/H1B to an FTE role... Also they use them to pick someone who has already been selected. So, in most cases (not all cases), the posting are just a formality. I know you know this, it's here for newbies.

How many interviews must they complete before giving the job to the person they already have in mind?
@aw they made us (my boss actually) do it. We checked the boxes as to be legalproof, per procedure. Blame the procedure not the pawns. How do you think I got the job? lol
THAT was our scenario. We posted a C12 sales spot, already had a (client) guy in mind, a sure thing. We then posted it (they made us do that), interviewed the mandatory Latina, Indian guy, old gal and 2 of our ops people - wasting their time. Nice chats but the false hope and time was shameful. They'll retaliate if I report that so just keep it between us, ok?
