@OP has anyone heard any news about upcoming layoffs or early retirement? It feels like if they’re gonna happen they’re gonna happen in October.

Anyone know if layoffs will affect Centerwell/Conviva CIT?

Typically last RIF cycle is by 10/31. That gives the 60 days to carry current salaries and claim saving (reduction in headcount) going into 2027. (Minus any payouts that could carry over). Or if backfilled with offshore, then cost savings to account for going into 2027.

@b8 my worry, the unreasonable metrics in the utilization review department is really concerning. And the directors and the people teaching the PEARLS program to show us how to do work don’t agree the people doing pearls obviously don’t do the review because there’s no possible way to do it the way they want and do 12 reviews and do a good review sure you could do a terrible review and the Medical directors don’t get what they need or it’s a completely copied review and worthless. If you actually do a decent review, there’s no way to do it. And then we get marked off by auditing because we document the way pearls wants but then management is shocked because we’re doing it different the way they want. The pearls training and the policies and procedures don’t match the managers dont know what the he-l is going on. They don’t know what the right answer is the director’s obviously don’t know what’s going on since they were shocked to find out what pearls was telling us to do. It is just a big old cluster. I can give a dozen more examples S B telling us that we’re overstaffed in Meetings but saying that’s OK because epic is coming in well now that epic isn’t coming in until April or May something like that what does that mean SB? Does that mean you’re laying everybody off now or does it mean you knew about that and that’s why you have the metrics we don’t have enough work for and the micromanaging so that you can put everybody on a pip and fire who you want? Not have to pay out severance packages? It’s just such a hot mess in this department. We all know there’s gonna be a layoff or a mass firing. Just do it already and rip the Band-Aid off.

@be Layoffs are continuing, never ending, in smaller batches, so they don't attract attention.

If you work at Humana, there will always be layoffs.

Layoffs happened in some areas over the last two weeks. Saw Linkedin posts from impacted people in HR and brand marketing.

They aren't. The focus is now unattainable metrics and targeted PIPs.
