Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

has anyone recently resigned?

Has anyone recently resigned, and if so, does anyone know how the bonus payout and 401(k) match schedule works for employees who leave during the year?

I’ve seen many posts here with mixed responses on whether employees who resign are eligible for their annual bonus and 401(k) contributions, so I’m trying to get some clarity based on actual experiences.

I’m currently the only employee based in the U.S., and it appears the call center & technology operations are moving offshore. I haven’t communicated any intention to leave, but I’d like to understand my options and what happens to earned benefits if someone decides to resign.

Also, does anyone have insight into the so-called 30-day notice period? Is that a company requirement, and how does it impact the final paycheck, bonus eligibility, or other benefits?

Are you f-ing stupid? What makes you think a company firing 1500 people per month is going to give you any financial compensation for voluntarily leaving?

I recently resigned to retire and got stuck working 60 days anyway even though I had just been transferred and didn’t have anything on my plate and had been hit out of nowhere with the first does not meets of … my entire career.

I may be marked do not rehire but I also do not care. At this point in my career my mental health and being able to spend time with my family and loved ones means more than whatever bonus/match I missed out on (the bonuses never were what they promised anyway). I made my money in my time and put it away to be able to pull the plug whenever. I had full careers in other places before coming here and if I need to, I can do it again.

For the record, after I resigned I didn’t step a foot back in the office except my last day to say goodbye to the brave folks remaining and turn in my laptop. Sincerest wishes for the best luck for all of you.

So I resigned in June.

1) the 30 day/60 day notice can be waived by your leadership if they want to. Mine did not — they were mad about several of us finding external jobs before they could lay us off due to location strategy and wanted to get as much work as possible while trying to convince us waiting for the layoffs was a better long term plan for the good of the team.

2) I was told long before I resigned that if I did not give the notice I would be placed on the do not rehire list. Not that I want to come back but I didn’t want the risk.

3) I forfeit my 401k match upon leaving. Though…..my financial advisor laughed when I told her how the match is only applied once a year.

4) I heard of someone this year who resigned after annual bonuses were announced but before the bonus was paid. HR went in and pulled his bonus so they got nothing.

I recently resigned. You have to be employed on Dec 31 to get the 401k match for that year. You have to be employed when bonus is paid. You can find these details buried I Teamworks. Good Luck.

To get your match you have to be an employee on the last day of the year.

If you leave, don't expect a bonus even if you're eligible. Why would a manager be so good about that sort of thing to somebody who quit? If it's still in the bonus pool, they'll just give it to those who are still around.

Why would I resign when Shart will pay me to leave?

if you voluntarily quit, why would you think you get any of that?

Most employees I know resigned long ago. When the managers started manufacturering fake reviews, all the employees checked out.

At least for fraud contact centers I've been told by management that the current strategy is 40% onshore, 60% offshore. I don't anticipate a full closure of contact centers, though strategies may change over time. I'd be more concerned if you're not in a core location. But then again, if you're not hating your job, it might be worth waiting for the severance package if you're sure your job is going away. Especially if you have tenure.

go to HRSS and look up the 401K match - it's dec 15 and then posts a couple of weeks later I think - but confirm

If you resign before bonuses are paid in Feb you will not get a bonus for prior year.

if you are displaced, you must be an employee as of sept 30 to qualify for a bonus payout the following feb. .

@OP
Resignation are only going to accelerate with 4 or even better 5 days return to office.

30 day notice really only impacts restricted share rights.

If you resign before year end you wont get a bonus, period.

Generally you must be a wells fargo employee on the last business day of the year to get your match.
