Canadian here, the average employees (not the one in the article ) cannot put a 3.5 years fight (during that time, they cannot accept money from IBM and cannot get employed), so ppl get way less money (about 12 months salary for 20+ years of service, 6 months for 10+years), and move on with their lives.

Again IBM Canada. IBM has been getting away with this in the US for years because of poor protections. the only cases that actually saw payouts were the ones where the discrimination proof was bullet proof

If on PIP. Save everything. Secretly record conversations and definitely speak with an employement attorney.
We all know they are misusing the PIP system. It’s fraud. You can get a settlement too.
