It is funny talking to people who used to work at ExxonMobil. They have no idea just how quickly and how much worse things have gotten.

Retirees stay in touch with their former colleagues and we do know how bad things are. Current employees will tell retirees "off-the-record" on the We Are ExxonMobil Culture.
Just look at all of the posts on TheLayoff.com referencing ExxonMobil. Maybe someone will take these anonymous posts and write a best-selling book someday.
@rj yeah I also personally know a manager — a wonderful leader, thinker, doer — who chose to leave instead of having to hand out NSIs to people who did not deserve them. The company’s loss.
Some Managers took retirement earlier than planned when they saw that EM had we-ponized the NSI/PIP system to lay-off good people.
One Manager in 2020 announced this at his retirement celebration! Said he turned in his retirement notice less than 15 minutes after receiving the NSI list. Said he could not work for a company that would label an industry expert as “ Needs Significant Improvement “.
@OP TBH retirees probably don't care, if they have any sense they would have no XOM stock and couldn't care about the poor ba----ds still scratching out a living there.

The EMIT VP back in 2019 was the “canary in the coalmine” moment signaling the impending culture crash. The way the company handled the pandemic by maintaining executive bonuses while cutting regular employees’ 401k match and raises confirmed it.
There's always ups and downs, but things were generally good working at EM through the 2000's and 2010's.
The past 6 years have been an utter dumpster fire, and working here is nothing like what it was like 10 years ago. It's awful.
