Has the hiring freeze topic come back around yet, usually the October layoffs are preceeded by a hiring freeze to maximize the fourth quarter bump going through November and December.
USB does "targeted layoffs" just about every single month of every year for several years now. This will not change. It's how the bank operates. Goonjun and her brainwashed McKenzie squad see this is the ideal way to operate. Constantly cut people and rehire more cheaply somewhere else (sometimes offshore, other times in lower cost geography locations onshore). She/they truly do not give a sh-t about the employees, only about meeting whatever organizational targets their McKenzie consultants tell them in powerpoint decks they need to achieve. They brainlessly implement.
@dd Dude it's not 2020 anymore. Nobody from any "side" is still going on about the shocking horror of "gender neutral bathrooms" which are actually just simply bathrooms that are fully ADA compliant regarding space and maneuverability, and also can serve other functions as needed (including being neutral as to the gender of the person using them). Grow up. And try to get caught up.
@dd I wonder what your problem is. Other countries do it and they figured it out. Only in America do we have backwards people that really obsess over stupid sh-t like bathrooms and who goes in them.

Absolutely not. Q4 is their favorite time of year to impose layoffs. You must be fairly new not to be aware of that, but it is the unfortunate truth.
They make small reductions (by their standards, not ours - one layoff is one too many) throughout the year to avoid having to comply with the WARN Act, the largest of which typically occur during the holiday season, but still in numbers below the threshold that would require them to provide advance notice per the aforementioned Act. They like to make their big cuts before the end of the fiscal year.
The biggest layoffs are typically in October. I think September will mostly be those from JR's org that were told to get to a hub or be severed.
I'm guessing we will see similar across business lines in the next 1-2 years. They'll keep it minimal to avoid a WARN. They don't want that publicity

Wishful thinking OP. Layoffs will happen in Sep and Oct. There will also be another "rug pull" around Oct / Nov ...
