Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Internet Air

Wife went into store for another problem. Rep talked her into trying Internet Air and gave her equipment to return if we didn’t like it. Told her our current provider was cheaper and met our needs. She returned per instructions. Got a notification this morning account was delinquent and would be turned into collections agency. This is 2 weeks after returning. Rep I spoke with this morning saw where the equipment was returned and it might take another 2 weeks to credit my account. Do they only have 2 people handling this process for the entire company.

Follow up. Called in yesterday to check on Internet Air account. As usual rep was nice and even said he would credit my account. Followed up because of another AI generated email saying I owed money. This rep did say I could get more emails because they are auto generated and to ignore them. Hopefully this saga has ended but wonder why it took 3 calls to perhaps get this done. And to the person who said my wife should have checked with me either isn’t married or doesn’t have a spouse with an Amazon account.

Instruct your wife that she is not to make such decisions in the future without speaking to you first.

@OP nah, it's handled by AI, and AI doesn't care.

Kind of like the reps in Cor stores who don’t know how to activate new phones properly. Real story. Got new phone awhile ago. Tried to activate and move stuff to that phone myself without much luck and went to a store. Rep spent some time with it, handed it to me and the few things I tried seemed to work. Got home and a lot didn’t. Went back the next day and employee told me that was all they could do because “The” employee who knew how to do it properly was off that day and suggested I call into customer support. Got it done in 10 minutes.

I'm routinely approached by "AT&T Employees" in Costco and Sam's club who try to sell me on T plans. Before I tell them I already have T service, I listen to their sales pitch. No activation fees and first month free. Because they don't have a store setup they tell me to call customer service who will credit me the charges after they sign me up. I then tell them I have a COU and they say they never heard of that company. Later they admit they are a contractor. I tell my friends and neighbors to RUN when they are approached!

SOP, for the this! Happens all time. Rep con customers into service and tell them the 14 return policy. Be sure to ck your cell phone account. You probably have HTP AND CELL PHONE INSURANCE STACKED ON THERE AS WELL! HTP HTP HTP is all we hear as COR Sales rep , get it on the account anyway u can we are told!

Let me add. Both Reps I spoke with were extremely nice and tried to help. The first time I called in with tracking number the next day after returning. The lady I spoke with this morning saw it had been returned and it was in the system. The threat on the notification makes me think about the possibility of my credit score being impacted due to it taking a month to resolve. Pretty pi---d to say the least.
