I suspect that any prior "Needs Improvement" rating was enough to be flagged for possible layoff.
Even if they were later reviewed as Meets Expectations.
So I will never rate someone that way, ever.
I don’t always trust this narrative. Saw my friend get sidelined (bnpl) and tagged as underperforming with an Alex Chriss era new hire that just wanted to hire in someone from their old company.
