@hd That is a bad idea. Please allow me to explain.

Removing CMS Stars would remove any government oversight and control whatsoever over the large for-profit health insurance corporations, whose main mandate for them is to reduce fraud, waste, and abuse and also to reduce the amount of administrative operational burden that Traditional Medicare today does not yet fully have the capacity for.

Removing CMS Stars, would make lives easier for these corporations but it would be very bad for Medicare members. It would be tantamount to letter the fox have complete control over the hen house. And as such, these corporations would be given complete control to do anything they want. Corruption would run amok.

The idea of removing CMS Stars may be good for corporate profitability and normally that is all well and good. But we must remember that over 80% of funding and revenue comes from the government, or in other words from tax payer dollars. Therefore, it is only reasonable that the government, and tax payers footing the bill funding-wise, should have certain metric expectations, safeguards, and governmental controls in place to keep these corporations in check.

While yes it is true that under a capitalist system, for-profit corporations are in it to increase profits as much as possible, if in doing so, they should find another business where they are not using government funded, tax payer dollars. In other words, use their own monies and make and sell widgets, if they so desire. But they ate not, they are using mine and yours and al of the Medicare members tax dollars (that they paid into the system out of their paychecks for literally decades).

So, in short, if you are going to use someone else’s money, then expect certain governing conditions to go along with it.

We need CMS to do away with STARs. It’s such a pipe dream and costs the companies more each year to readjust strategy to their poor planning.

@br Not a bad idea! Hopefully some super wealthy entrepreneurs will cone across this site or come up with the idea on own to offer health insurance, targeting specifically employees that do not want to get health insurance through their employers and that entrepreneur some undercut the corporation’s health insurance policies offered to their employees.

Call the olans something like, “Stick it to your Employer Health Insurance Plan”

As long as they're putting money in politicians' pockets, they're not going to experience one iota of abrasion.
If we really want to sc--w them, we'd stop buying insurance plans through our jobs en mass. Don't expect our corrupt government to do anything about it.

Ideas for getting the ball rolling:

1. Anytime or anyway you know of that these corporations are breaking the law, seek to contact an attorney and open litigation against them
2. If there are instances that they are breaking laws against investors, go to the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) and open a ticket to report and have them look into.
3. Anytime they are breaking federal ethics laws, go to the Federal Government’s pagr for The U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE) and report it. https://www.oge.gov/web/oge.nsf/about_reporting-misconduct
4. Continuously chip away at these corporation’s public image on every social media outlet, speaking only the truth about all the ways they are misusing tax payer dollars and how they are denying legitimate health claims and all the ways that Traditional Medicare is superior.
5. Try to network and befriend the local and national news media and get them on our side and how it would benefit their news networks as well as their own personal careers to report on these injustices.
6. Try to network and befriend governing officials that can make a difference, such as Mayors, Governors, Senators, House of Representatives, etc. and try to persuade them that a substantial shift away from these large for-profit corporations and to non-profits and/or not-for-profits organizations to instead administrate Medicare along side of Traditional Medicine for CMS and the American people.
7. Any other ways, I may not be thinking of that you smartly folks can think up.
