@cy perhaps the cheap work ( repeatetive tasks ) can be offloaded to India where there are no benefits ( health insurance, SS payments , 401K contri. etc are not paid )..
But the H1Bs here is US are VERY EXPENSIVE.. in return you get the cheap work that you can from offshore for 15% of this cost..
H1Bs are over rated..
High base Salaries + all benefits for the entire family of 4 atleast + a ton of immigration Fees for the whole family for each filing paid by the employer..

You just have to look at the costs for India vs US on a spread sheet.
Cheap is just that. If you want Walmart pricing, you get Walmart-quality services.

In the long run - H1B visa will be the downfall of Fiserv.
H1Bs are protected because they are easily exploited for fear of being deported. When there are layoffs, the H1Bs should be the first to get RIF'd.
Time to file USCIS complaint that US citizens who are very competent were.laid off while the incompetent H1Bs were protected.

Do you see any H1B's being laid off in proportion with others ? does that mean only US citizens are incompetent and being sent home more often ??
From experience we know that direct managers protect H1B due to visa issues and they work as per the direct manager's times/schedules/rules/decisions.. This IS special protection.
