They are rushing to cut headcount costs rather than looking at organizational functions and what people actually do and the value they add to the ecosystem and customers. I want to jump off this sinking ship. Let them deal with the remaining performance obligations and unresolved internal customer issues without enough human headcount.
Yes this is just a rant and may be im wrong.

@b5 yes but not on this mass scale. That's where the issue come from.
@b5 It is said that O has hostages and not customers.
@as The grander plan of surveillance and technocracy is where they are contributing. Power is a bigger legacy for them than their products. Citizen and non-citizen employees are helping with that plan.
O has been laying folks off for years. Its cyclical. O does not care if a project is impacted or a customer is neglected. No one is that important. Funniest thing I have seen are employees asking about transition plans, or customer turn-over meetings during a layoff. They do not care and they do not want your input. This is a feature. not a bug. I have made the calls to customers. Yea, sometimes they are disappointed. But nine out of ten times they just except it as being how business works. Worried about impact to a project you are working on? Who cares - project might go away, postponed, delayed. You seem to think this is something new.
@ag I trust Codex on 5.6 model more than I trust the vast majority of human engineers
Yes, the way these restructures went did not have to be. Oracle gutted a winning SuperBowl team to compete in a totally different sport (or running over the snowblower with the lawnmower) which they were not ever built to play. AI is anathema to large organizations with embedded hierarchies. The sharks and some smaller fish with fresh ideas are circling to grab Oracle customers. Oracle may become the cautionary tale business leaders can learn from for years.

lol this is why there is a GBU at oracle using other roles (non product or engineering) to QA their releases….
Oracle customers would flip if they knew
I’d trust a vibe coded app over some oracle products…because a lot of software under oracles umbrella is essentially written by codex
So? And?
Did you consider that the disfunction is a feature and not a bug?
You can leave at any time.
Those left behind should just work their contract hours and if that means extra work is not done then so what, it's not their problem.
