Just wondering how soon after getting laid off did you all start applying for jobs. Did you wait until after the 60-day displacement notice period?

I was applying for jobs during the layoff call lol. I found a job within the 60 days and was considered to have never left. Unfortunately, of the two offers I had, the offer to return paid significantly more than the offer to go elsewhere even though they were supposedly similar roles.
@OP my 60 days coming up next week and I started looking at job openings. If no jobs then just retire at age 59.
I was looking before being laid off. Had several good interviews. After being laid off I did more follow-up. Double dipped for a while.
I started looking 2 hours later. 65 days later I had a new job. Don't get complacent. 1 month turns into 6. I had a friend who decided he did not want to look until 6 months later, and 3 years later he is still unemployed
I started right away and got a couple of interview during that time but I did let them know I was still on a 60 day hold and after the date was over I could start. A lot of them where understanding and I landed a job and was able to start a couple of weeks after the 60 day hold. It nice to bank and an extra pay check and still on severance for a bit!
Most people are so scared to apply and lose their severance. That's what leadership tries to passively message to sabotage your success.
Just like if you weren't getting laid off, you can search for jobs while employed here. Just don't officially join another company until the 60 days are up

Start looking on day one, as it will likely take months to find something.
start ASAP. might take months to find something. if you get an offer before the notice period is up, your new employer can wait until you're ready. 60 days isn't that long.

Yes, I did know all of that already, thanks. My question is about when people started applying. The hiring process takes weeks. I’m just wondering if people started applying during their displacement notice, or if they took some time off and waited until after.
You’re still an employee for the 60 days and if you accept something else and start before the 60-days are up you lose the severance and remaining 60 days of pay. And if you do it, expect WF to claw back any money you make while on 60-day but before severance starts. It’s all in your severance packet. If you’re asking out of curiosity, now you know.
