Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The final paycheck question

I've heard horror stories about deductions and unpaid vacation for folks who quit. Anyone deal with that?

@c6 you are not getting a bonus. If you leave voluntarily it is cut. If you are let go, there is no bonus either.
Happened to everyone last year but retirees. I am still pi---d about that.

@OP. All the vacation time you bought will be lost if not taken and no reimbursement. The vacations are prorated. So let's say you got 3 weeks of vacation, and are leaving August 31st (2/3 of the year), only 2 weeks are actually paid back. If you actually took all your vacation time already, one week will be discounted from your paycheck.

Make sure no COMP time is due (you won't get paid for it). Make sure to take screenshots and download of all your info, including also contact numbers for HR. You'll get some bonus next year, but minimum. It is prorated like the vacation time, but also you'll get the lowest multiplier for it.

If you are quitting because you found something better, good for you. You shouldn't worry too much, and with all the info in your power, it should be easy to request what it belongs to you. If you are quitting and have nothing else in hand, maybe you should not quit yet, and use the time at Ford to find something else.

When I was laid off I had about $1000 worth of pre-approved paid overtime for a long testing drive trip which Ford owed me. When I got my last check it was not in there. I had to go back and forth with HR multiple times before I got paid. I finally had to get my old supervisor involved to explain to them that, yes the overtime was pre-approved and yes, I did actually go on the drive trip. It was ridiculous that I had to do any of that! Ford su-ks.
