@hk Because right now we are in reduction mode and attrition is so much cheaper than severance.

Can confirm HEAVY recruiting in ITC to replace the clear-cut of WHQ engineers. they have also started experimenting with moving product roles to ITC as well.

@h6 basically all SWEs who were hired remote are still remote until calendar 2027, a few are just coming in now because the think it makes them look good.

people are definitely leaving Nike voluntarily, I get misfired goodbye emails to my inbox like every other week. people are seeing the AI slop idiocy of leadership firsthand, the big bosses are drunk on LLM koolaid

@fv lmao, why would HR downvote a claim that attrition is low? Low attrition is good for HR.

@ad Why would HR post this? It would be better for denial, so they don't have to pay severance packages. Most people dig in waiting to hear if they get laid off so they can take their retirement packages.

So what can be the criteria. I see almost few ppl voluntarily left in the last few weeks and few are already searching.
Few ppl are still working remotely any chances of remote ppl going to effect?

@fd Yep, HR downvoting you, but attrition is not driving any headcount reduction. People are clinging to their jobs like life buoys. The only ones leaving are the ones that have to be replaced anyways because they were actually critical

Don't worry the incompetent visa people will be ICEd up soon, and it will be back to a popularity contest with who can get the most brown on their nose.

@fd I don’t believe that for a second. I know several engineers who have left since the layoffs, and everyone I’ve talked to is actively searching for alternate jobs. This was not true pre reorg

Attrition in tech is at an all-time low.

Nah, they want the voluntary attrition from the WFH mandate. Way cheaper.

Does anyone really think that the “leaders” in tech give a rip about morale? F them, do another re-org, move everything to ITC and see how long the lights stay on.

Bring it on. At this point I'd be happy if I got laid off with the severance. It's been an absolutely demoralizing sh-t show here since the last re-org. And now as we continue to hire on more senior leadership after explaining away the last re-org by saying that it was to reduce reporting structures and move towards single threaded I'm fully done

I doubt this is true, but will happily take the severance if it is. This reorg has been an absolute sh-t show and most people I talk to are miserable. Which was probably the point…
