This whole thing has caused complete company wide paralysis. Best bet, spend the next few days working on your resume. If you're RIF'd then at least Oracle paid you to write your resume. If not, well then your resume is at least more current for when they do the next RIF in March '27.

I don't know what you are talking about, since Codex was adopted ironically everyone in our division (survivors of many rounds of layoffs) are producing more than ever. Feature are delivered at neck breaking speed I have never seen in Oracle before.

@aa I remember using the purchasing PC part trick long back but stick with small parts like mouse or keyboard. there used to be multiple answers:
- Not now budget constraint
- Not now
- Wait for a while
- Go ahead
I always watch for immediate answers by voice not mails
Usually 4 means safe, Some genuine reasons were ok. Other than that you can see something cooking.
The good news is churn above means that management is overwhelmed, confused, and often clueless regarding actual work so individual contributors can set their own pace and provide bullsh-t reasons for delays. It's a win-win.
I'm still putting in a fair day's work because I'm still getting paid, but I'm definitely not working more than my contracted hours and most teams I work with don't much care if a deadline slips. I'm mostly in it for the redundancy settlement at this point, and if the layoffs have stopped then I'll start looking for greener pastures.

@cc the absolute recipe for disaster when the employees are competing with the corporation to see who can have lower moral standards... I miss ethical behavior and a time when you could trust people. It is not coming back...
OP, let's be honest... this is part of the reason why Oracle is making so many cuts. The headcount is bloated to the point that people can stop working and no one misses their input. When the number of employees reaches 90K they will realize that they can probably run with 60K. Don't forget that you contributed to this...

Oracle can easily stop this game by notifying all the employees RIF or SAFE FOR 6 MONTHS immediately

Actually many employees spend much time checking managers calendar, slack members, here etc. Losing concentration at least.
Leaders should tell to the members who are safe as soon as possible, not only notifying to RIF members.
Some people ask their managers if they can purchase a new pc or phone, just for testing if they are safe.
